I opened my eyes and saw the golden wall clock on top of the flat-screen TV that was hanging on the wall. It was eight in the morning at nakahiga pa ako?
What day was it? Where was I?
I tried to sit. Humulagpos ang comforter. I gasped and pulled it to my chest right away.
I was naked again!
Inikot ko ng tingin ang paligid. Fine, I know whose room this was. Not mine. I tried to think of what happened last night. Pinakiramdaman ko din ang sarili ko. I think I was fine. I just had to look for my clothes.
I started to get off the bed and looked for my slippers when the door opened. I sat right back on the bed.
"Hello," It was Brett, of course. This was his room.
I promised myself to be good to him. It had been miserable without him.
I smiled. "Good morning."
He was carrying a tray with food. Nilapag niya iyon sa kama. He sat at the edge of the bed facing me.
I looked at the food. It made me hungry.
He touched my face. "How are you feeling?"
I nodded at him. "Okay," after everything we had been through, nahihiya ako ngayon sa kanya. Bakit hindi na lang ako maging tulad ni Barbie?
"Hindi mo ba itatanong kung bakit wala kang damit?"
I looked at the food. Umiling ako.
"Hindi?" hindi siya makapaniwala.
Because I always made a big deal out of it in the past, I was such a denial queen when this actually made me giddy.
Him wanting me was like everything in this world.
Dinampot ko ang sliced apple. "Siguro may naghubad sa akin." I smiled without looking at him.
"Naka swimsuit ka pala, pulang-pula, ang ganda. Bagay sa'yo."
