I hope I didn't say that out loud. Baka nagtutulug-tulugan lang siya. Although, I doubt it because her breathing was calm and easy.
But I knew that she didn't need to hear that from me. Baka kapag narinig niya ay magtatakbo siya palayo.
Knowing Gem sa loob ng mahigit tatlong buwan, she had this relationship phobia. Ibig sabihin, hindi ko puwedeng i-clarify kung ano ang mayroon kami because that wasn't a part of her agenda.
I had to enjoy what we have at dapat ay matuto akong makuntento. Gem wasn't ready for anything. At least not now.
I knew that she liked me. Kahit hindi niya sabihin. And I was glad. Kung mahal niya na ako ay hindi ko alam. But for now, I was just glad that she was being that special woman in life.
I glanced at the digital watch on top of the white drawers behind her. It was already six in the morning at ngayon pa lang ako matutulog.
I allowed Gem to sleep at around three thirty. I mean, I allowed her to go to bed, because she had been sleeping on my lap already since two a.m.
I couldn't allow her to leave me in the computer room. I needed her there while I was working in the wee hour of the night. Having her made everything calm and easy.
She wasn't complaining. Hinintay niya ako the entire time that I was working. She brought her laptop and had been writing at the other desk while I was working where the seven monitors were.
I could hear her murmuring at times. Napapangiti lang ako.
I was thinking that she was saying the thoughts or the dialogue of the characters that she was writing about. I was in awe!
Minsan ay dire-diretso ang pagtipa niya sa keyboard. Minsan naman ay humihinto siya sandali para magbasa ng mga naisulat niya. Or maybe she was editing it.
I thought she was writing fast. I knew when at some particular point she would stop typing, pero hindi iyon nagtatagal, and she would type again.
The sound kept me sane the whole night knowing that I was not alone. The best part was, I was with a special woman that I wanted to be with.
It was almost a dream come true.
At one in the morning, she told me that she was hungry. "Do you want me to order for delivery?" I asked as I faced her, nasa likod ko kasi ang desk na gamit niya. Her eyes were a little red. Kinuyumos niya siguro. "Are you sleepy?"
Umiling siya. "I'm fine, maybe I can have coffee and a little sandwich? No need to order for delivery."
Inisip ko kung ano ang puwede naming i-raid sa ref. Tulog na ang lahat at kung hindi kami o-order ay kailangang magsariling sikap kami. "I think there's cold cuts in the fridge for your sandwich. At may coffeemaker ako sa kuwarto." This room was adjacent to mine.
