I saw Barbie approach Brett on the table. She sat on the chair beside him. Wasn't that occupied?
Naiinis ako pero wala naman akong magawa.
She was so touchy, I could see her rubbing his forearm while saying something to him.
His light blue long-sleeved shirt was folded a few inches up his forearm. She was rubbing and smoothing his baby hair in there. I couldn't even do that in public with him.
He stopped talking and looked at me. I looked away. I was sitting a few tables away. I thought the table arrangement was by department and I really couldn't get the guts to walk to him and rub him, stupid me.
Barbie could do that. She thought it was okay and she didn't care if everybody was looking at them.
Brett was a hot piece, everybody wanted him. I wanted him. He said he wanted me but I couldn't rectify a thing. I was scared, I couldn't move. I didn't want to.
"So, what do you think?"
Napatingin ako sa boss ko. May sinasabi pala siya. I sighed. "Siyempre alam mo na hindi kita napakinggan masyado, 'di ba?"
He shook his head. "Ano bang iniisip mo?"
Hindi ako kumibo. Then I thought of what I overheard about what he said a while ago. I didn't like this. I didn't like it when my brain wasn't functioning well.
"I think it's a good thing until we discover their weaknesses. Malayong bansa iyon, malamig, bihira sumikat ang araw. We didn't really know things until it hit us.
The best thing to do is be ready. Make sure that there is always a back-up plan kasi kung wala ma--pu pull out tayo diyan. And you don't want that to happen, right?"
Tinitigan niya ako. "Akala ko ba hindi mo naintindihan ang sinabi ko."
"Nahagip ko lang. Tama naman ang sagot ko 'di ba?"
