Enzo tried to convince himself he didn't miss Steve. He'd often imagine what he'd do if they ever came in contact again. What would he feel? What would he say? Would everything that had happened still matter?
He tried disregarding the feeling of sorrow. He missed him. Masking the thought of knowing he'd never hear his laugh again, and relied on all of the pitiful memories they had together.
