Leni did not sleep a wink.
She spent the entire night staring at the ceiling of her room and thinking of almost nothing significant. She wasn't sure if it was because she was still upset about the argument she had with Bongbong the night before or because she was overthinking what would happen with the meeting with their lawyer today. She yearned for the pause button in life and wished that time would just stand still. To deal with these things by herself, especially being an emotional human being like her, she is unsure of whether or not she will be able to handle this nor move forward right after.
It was so bold of Bongbong to try and intoxicate her with alcohol and unsure feelings last night, as she thought. Her husband didn't leave her a choice. Simply by barraging her with a statement, he managed to get things to turn out the way he had envisioned them. He requested this as if he had been wanting to put an end to this for such a long time now, and he really appeared determined at that time. He promised Louise forever, but as if a newly-wed, he's experiencing cold feet now that he's getting closer and closer to getting what he wants. She didn't wanna be unfair.
Leni rolled over to look at the clock next to her bed and discovered that it was already seven in the morning. She got up from her sheets and started drinking her morning water rather than continuing to try to catch up on sleep by lying down and staying in bed longer. She did nothing but stand and stare at the veranda for a while, all the while keeping an eye on the passing pedestrians and vehicles. She went back inside and tried to divert her thoughts by organizing her wardrobe and packing it back into her suitcase as the sun continued to shine brightly on her position. Following the meeting, they both needed to catch the first flight of the afternoon at precisely 1 o'clock, so everything had to move as quickly as they possibly could.
In spite of the fact that she hadn't slept in moments, she still managed to strip down to her garments and give herself a quick shower to clear her head and revitalize her body. Even though she has no idea how things will turn out for the both of them after this, she can take comfort in the fact that he is facing it head-on with a level head. She would make decisions and respond to the questions in an open and honest manner. Agad siyang lumabas ng banyo, nagbihis at inayusan ang sarili. Leni's thoughts are currently muddled with what-ifs and uncertainties; however, she is aware that she will try her best to just get through the day.
Paglabas niya ng pinto ay bumungad sa kanya si Bongbong na kasalukuyang sinasandal ang likuran sa pader habang nakataas ang kaliwang paa at hawak hawak ang telepono, halatang may hinihintay na tawag. Seeing him all prepared makes her heart flinch for a bit.
"Hi," Leni greeted out of respect.
Umangat ang tingin ni Bongbong sa kanya at umusal, "Yeah, hi."
"Are you coming?" pag-aaya ni Leni. Muntik pa siyang mautal ngunit naitawid naman niya.
"Mauna ka na sa elevator," tipid nitong tugon habang nakatingin pa rin sa phone nito.
Wow. Ice king realness.
This was exactly what she had in mind. Even though she was expecting it, the occurrence still caused her heart to twitch and her stomach to knot up with disappointment. Bongbong is like a flipping page, hindi mo matantiya kung anong magiging mindset ngayon at bukas makalawa. He is an individual who is unable to make steady decisions, is impulsive, is uncertain, is defiant, is overly spontaneous, and last but not the least, a jerk-face. One could have no way of knowing what thoughts are going through his head or what action he will take next.
