IV: Disastrous Family

Leni was currently taking a bath inside her own bathroom as Manang Rosa was ironing her dress for tonight's family dinner. She had only intended to take a shower, but she ended up taking a lengthy, ice-cold bath instead since the sight of Louise and her husband grinning and laughing over the bar counter as soon as she entered their home was driving her crazy. For the love of God, it was already a little after 4:30 in the afternoon. Kung hindi pa siya dumating, mukhang wala din atang balak umalis ang kumag na 'yon.

She cussed at the back of her mind. Sa sobrang inis niya ay binato nito ang sabon sa pader. Agad namang yumakap sa kanya ang pagsisisi at kahihiyan kaya kinuha niya ito mula sa sahig at binalik sa tamang lalagyan. Because it has already been going on for such a long period, she is not even expected to feel like she is in over her head at this point. It's possible that this is because they've been carrying on a long-distance romance for nearly five years, and the fact that it was more hard to watch them converse onscreen than in person... Leni is completely clueless on the reasons behind her behavior at this point.

The whispers at the back of her mind were just too strong for her to handle. Sometimes, she's glad that she had that kind of company to keep her sane. It had been her greatest companion from the moment she got married to someone who isn't even interested in him. She let out a long, slow breath, psyching herself up for the long night that was to come. At least with regard to her. She proceeded out of her room and made sure the door was locked before walking down the staircase, where she encountered Bongbong who was also suited up at that point. He did nothing but stand there close to their front door, facing the front of their very own mansion. Though it's always women's nature to finish last, nahihiya pa rin siyang pinaghihintay niya ang asawa. Issues aside, to her, it was still unethical.

"Matagal ka bang naghintay? I'm sorry," Leni uttered out of respect.

Lumingon si Bongbong sa kung sino ang nagsalita and unknowingly, he was taken aback by her presence without realizing it.. Because these are the only lucky times he'd be seeing Leni so glammed up and gorgeous, he will be forever grateful to his Mom for organizing formal home dinners to gather the family together once a month. His Mom hosts these dinners once a month in their home. It is unfortunate that he is aware of the fact that she was officially off-limits, as a result of which he did not continue to pursue her in any way.

"I just also finished," were the only thing he uttered after seconds of delay, appreciating the woman he married.

Sabay na silang tumapak sa lupa at saktong dumating din ang kanilang sasakyan. They didn't want to tire themselves out behind the wheel, so whenever they do something like this, they always bring a second driver with them just in case. It was Bongbong who did the deed of opening the door for Leni so that she may enter the car first at agad naman siyang sumunod papasok. They reattached the cuffs of their sleeves and the hems of their skirts as the driver formally withdrew themselves inside the neighborhood of their mansion.
