"Why are you home just now?" hindi mapigilang tanong ni Bongbong mula sa may kalayuan. His mind was thinking of all the possible scenarios that probably happened within her absence.
"Why do you care?" agad namang sabat ni Leni, halata sa kanyang mga mukha ang ginhawa nang hindi niya nabasag ang sariling boses.
"Because it's surprising to see a woman as you come home so early," he tried not to be too sarcastic, yet the tone dominated him.
"Huh, now you're being sexist," she threw daggers in his eyes. "Ano bang pakialam mo kung anong ginawa ko kagabi? Kasalanan na bang magsaya kahit isang gabi lang?"
"Stop overreacting, will you?" he tried to look calm but his temper rose up. "I am just asking you a simple question yet you put meaning to it. Gusto ko lang malaman kung san ka galing at kung anong ginawa niyo, tapos. Lahat na lang ng mga pag-rreach out ko sa'yo, nilalagyan mo ng malisya. Hindi ka ba napapagod?"
"Wow, Marcos. I really can't believe you. Ang kapal din naman ng mukha mo ano," she took a few steps towards him as she lowered her voice and spoke in an authoritative tone. "Why are you suddenly acting like some sort of a perfect, worried husband right now? Who the hell are you to worry if I'm sleeping around or not? Why the hell do I owe you an explanation? Bakit, nagpaalam ka bang sisipingan mo si Louise sa sariling pamamahay natin? Ni katiting na respeto at kahihiyan, binigay mo ba sa'kin? You didn't. So fuck off."
Leni stormed out of the session without even trying to tell Bongbong what had transpired between her and Louise which was the pool accident and the fiery word war, long before he ended up having sexual relations with Kit. The very last thing that she would want to do is give off the impression that she is a helpless, wicked bitch who is seeking pity from her husband. This would be an extremely difficult impression to project, considering that her husband is most likely entirely swayed by the lawyer's devotion to him.
Napasuntok si Bongbong sa manibela ng kanyang sasakyan, dahilan upang tumunog ang busina nito ng ilang segundo at nanakaw ang atensyon ng lahat, pati na kay Leni. Despite this, she didn't give a crap and proceeded upstairs to change into her work clothes. Naiinis pa rin siyang nagmaneho ng kanyang sasakyan papunta sa lugar kung saan sila magkikita ng tropa. Naiinis siya sa lahat: kay Leni na hindi man lang siya binibigyan ng pagkakataong magbigay-linaw, sa sitwasyong ito na kahit anong pilit niya ay hindi niya talaga maintindihan, at sa kanyang naguguluhang sarili.
