"Veep!" agad na sumugod si April at ang iba pa nitong mga kasama pagdating ng bise. "Okay lang po ba kayo? Wala bang masakit? Gusto niyo pong i-confine namin kayo sa ospital?"
The clock already struck seven in the morning, thus her assistants have already heard and seen the shocking news. Everyone, but April in particular, had a guilty conscience and was worried about their employer. Even though it was outside the scope of their work, they couldn't shake the feeling that had they been there with her at the time, none of this would have taken place.
"Yeah..." she hastily replied the moment she stepped out of the service van.
"Sigurado ho ba kayo? Ipapacancel na lang po natin mga meetings niyo today para makapagpahinga pa kayo Madam..." Cai uttered out of concern.
"Okay lang ako, everyone. Let's stop worrying na. I had my IV drip last night tapos maayos naman yung tulog ko kaya I'm fine," she subconsciously bit her lip over the lie she uttered once more.
"Sige po..." kibit-balikat na singit ni Apple. "Pero Ma'am, pag hindi kaya sabihan niyo ho kami agad. Nag-aalala kami sa'yo malala e."
"Apple," she chortled over her sentiment. "O sige. Basta sinabi ko na sa inyo na I'm already good. Sige na, bumalik na kayo sa mga puwesto niyo at magtrabaho na kayo."
Tuluyan nang pumasok si Leni sa kanyang opisina. She dashed up the stairs, opened the door to her office, and sat down in the swivel chair there, about to let out a sigh that was the most noticeably louder it had been in years. She only had coffee for breakfast as she always did, but after a while, she felt like she needed something more substantial than that. As a result of what took place last night, she needed something tangible to help her get through the day and continue believing what she does.
Nang pumasok si Yna sa kanyang opisina upang ihatid ang kanyang mga paperworks na kailangan pirmahan, she asked her, "Yna, kumain na ba kayo?"
"Nag-Grab po ngayon sila April, VP. May gusto po kayong ipabili?" she queued, hiding the amusement on her face since she doesn't usually eat something solid in the mornings.
"Oo sana. Kahit ano na lang, or yung parehas na lang din ng kakainin niyo," tipid nitong tugon.
"Sige Ma'am, sabihan ko ho sila," she paid her respects before leaving the room.
Nagsimula na siyang pumirma ng mga papeles galing sa binitbit ni Yna. It was the usual things, receiving and departing reciepts, important bills ng opisina, mga collective requests...it was all the same thing after paper by paper. She persisted, and in a little over a half an hour, she completed everything in a single burst at sakto namang pagdating ng kanyang pagkaing hinatid mismo ni April. As her assistant left the room, she used the opportunity to express her appreciation to her.
Tahimik lang na kumakain si Leni nang may narinig siyang katok sa kanyang pintuan. She swiftly responded with an 'mmm-hmm' despite the fact that her mouth was still full of food and she was still in the process of eating since she immediately thought that it wasn't her assistants because that isn't how they approach each other and because she was still in the middle of chewing.
Leni was greeted with a dashing smile as the door opened, "Hi, Veep."
