The Aftermath

We stood on the rooftop, watching as Light thrashed against the police. As soon as he was out of sight I turned to L.

"What now? You can't continue being L if everyone knows your real name now," I told him.
"Yes, I know. I have an idea Yume," he said, calling you by your alias. (Yume means dreams in Japanese and I thought it was really cute)

"No need to call me that anymore. Call me Y/N. Anyway, what's your idea?" I asked.
"If I call you by your real name then you should too. Please, call me Lawliet. As I was saying, I think we should fake my death. Then we can work together as an underground team under a new alias," He explained.
"That's... really smart actually. I'm a great actor, I can pretend you died and tell everyone."

Lawliet nodded in agreement. I gave him a sly smile and a thumbs up as I ran towards the stairs. I glanced at L one more time before dashing down the stairs. He was on the phone. Probably calling Watari.

I spouted crocodile tears as I entered the headquarters with the others. I burst through the door, falling on my knees for dramatic effect.

"He's dead! Ryuzaki, poor Ryuzaki he's dead! Kira got him!" I sobbed falsely. I dripped massive tears and rainwater on the floor, until I was in my own small puddle of water.

Matsuda and Misa were the first to come to my aid, Chief Yagami and the others followed.

"L is dead?" Matsuda asked in disbelief.
"That means Light has to be Kira!" Chief Yagami said.
"Yes, Light is in fact Kira," I sobbed again. "He's already been arrested, and he's going to be executed as soon as possible!" I tried my best not to burst out laughing.
"Oh poor Light, poor Ryuzaki, poor Yume!" Misa said, clearly unsure who to be sorry for.

Matsuda helped me stand when my phone rang. It was Watari. He probably had a plan for L and I.

"Watari? What is it?" I asked.
"I have been instructed to take you somewhere if anything was to happen to L. Please meet me outside Yume," he spoke in a very monotone voice.
"Of course Watari." I sniffed, "I'll be out in just a moment." I hung up.

I looked at the task force.
"That was Watari. He said he wanted to take me somewhere, so I'll be leaving now." I wiped my eyes.
"Bye!" They all said in unison as I went into the elevator.

I waved a quick goodbye as the doors closed. Wow, I really didn't think I was that good at acting.

I walked out the door and into the pouring rain again. There was a limo waiting outside for me, so I didn't get too wet again. I opened the door to see Watari in the front, and Lawliet in the back with a towel draped over his shoulders. He looked so hot that way.

  He handed me the towel.
"You look like you need it more than I do. That was a very convincing act you put up back there."
"Thank you." I gratefully accepted the towel. "So what now?" I asked him.
"I own an apartment that we will be staying in together. There we will work together on cases using the alias X. The rest of our time will be spent acting as normal citizens," he explained.

"Well, I guess I have to go get groceries. I'll help you on that new case when I get back. I'll see you later!" I waved as I walked out the door.

The air was warm and humid, although that wasn't surprising. It was early June now, and summer was around the corner.

(This was so fun to write wtf? Y/N really just started living and I was just telling his story like I'm so confused on how I did that but it was really fun)
