~Your POV~

Dear Yume,

This letter may surprise you, but I promise nothing negative is to come from this.

I would like to admit something to you. I've been wanting to tell you this for a while now, but I couldn't find the right timing.

Y/N, every time I see you, my heart races, my palms sweat, and I feel my face heat up. I believe you would call this nervousness. This sensation is no longer new, since I've been experiencing it ever since we met, but still. It surprises me.

I have finally discovered the reason for my being nervous around you. It's because I am in love with you.

Please, do not be hateful towards these feelings, but if you do not return them, I pray we can still be friends.

                                                         Signed,
                                                         Lawliet

I read the letter over and over again. Lawliet returned my feelings for him?!

"Lawliet, could you come out here please?"

I watched as L opened the bedroom door. He was slow, deliberate.

"What is it, Yume?"

"I saw your letter."

He stuck his face out of the doorway and I saw the redness of his cheeks, the blush spreading down his neck, tinting his nose and ears as well.

"Ah, what do you think of it?"

"Hah, I thought it was obvious that I loved you. I guess it wasn't as obvious as I'd thought."

"You truly think that highly of me?"

"Of course."

He stepped closer to me, and gently took my face into his hands. I could see the gentle waver of worry and tears glistening in his eyes.

"Can I?" He leaned a little closer to me.

"You can." He closed his eyes, and I closed mine.

The way his soft lips felt on mine was something I would never tire of feeling. I wanted to bathe in the moment forever. I never imagined this would happen, but I never imagined anything else could've happened.

All too soon, our lips parted, and we were separated again.

"Thank you," L said.

"For what?"

"For truly accepting me into your world."

"I always will. Now, I'm going to make breakfast."

I went back to my original task, my face still heated from the kiss. As I cooked, I thought. What did this make us? Were we still just friends, or are we technically dating? I wasn't sure. All that mattered was that we had finally kissed. We were finally aware of how we felt for each other.

That was all that mattered.

(Sorry guys short chapter but I think you guys will enjoy it anyway!)
