Reunited

~L's POV~

About an hour later, the door squeaked open. 

"Sorry for the wait, Mr. Gray, we had to stop and get some gas on the way back," I heard who I could only assume was Jacob say.

"Welcome home Jacob. I'm glad to report that your mother is still well," Gray replied

"Good to hear. I've got a visitor with us, said she's waiting for Joseph." 

I could feel Y/N tense with rage as Jacob mentioned a visitor. 

~Your POV~

As soon as Jacob mentioned a visitor I knew exactly who it was. He had brought Misa back to the farmhouse. I clenched my jaw and my fists, ready to confront him whenever Lawliet gave me the signal. 

"Oh, I've also got some visitors here. they said they were waiting for you," Gray mentioned.

Lawliet nodded at me, and we stepped out from behind the door, where we had been hiding. 

"Jacob Marke," I seethed, "you are under arrest for being an accomplice to the kidnapping of Misa Amane."

"What!? Who are you?!" He shouted as I fought to put him in cuffs.

"We are X. International criminal detectives, working together to bring the world justice." L said.

I nodded, internally applauding Lawliet's speech. Jacob had given up the fight as I got one cuff on his wrist, and we made him sit on the couch while L called local police.

Misa walked in, looking scared and bruised. I ran towards her, so glad to see her alive. 

"Misa! Oh gods Misa are you okay?" I took her hands gently and examined any noticeable bruises and cuts.

"I'm okay Y/N, and I'm really happy you're here." She smiled weakly and pulled me into a tight hug.

"I missed you Misa, I was so so worried." I embraced her and decided that as soon as we got back to Japan, we would take her to a doctor's office and get her wounds checked out. They didn't seem too serious, and I didn't want to pay for decent medical care, so I decided they could wait until then.

L came back and told us that the police would be here in 5 minutes to arrest Jacob, and then made sure Misa was okay again.

"I promise I'm fine!" She laughed happily and hugged Lawliet tightly.

As soon as the police arrived and took Jacob away, we thanked nurse Gray for his cooperation, then left for the airport.

We would be arriving back in Japan in 2 days time, that was the soonest we could get a flight back. I didn't care. I was just happy to know that everyone I cared about was okay and safe with me.

I was just happy to be reunited with the people I love.
