Meanwhile, at The Wanted's House...
Nathan was sitting at the table, drinking a steaming cup of tea, playing a game on his iPhone.
'Nath, mate, can I talk to you a minute?'
'Yeah, sure Jay, what's up?'
'Sarah's very pretty.'
'Yeah, I know, she's beautiful,' Nathan paused, 'Why?'
'You didn't share her yesterday.' At this comment from Jay, Nathan burst out laughing. He realised he might have been being a little disrespectful because Jay actually seemed to be very concerned about this, but Nathan just couldn't help it. For some reason he found this hilarious. Jay frowned.
'I did share her; she just chose to spend the day with me. Why are you so concerned about this?'
'Because you didn't protect me and I was eliminated. But that's not my point. I didn't have much of a chance to get to know Sarah, and she seemed really sweet.'
'She was really sweet. She wasn't the only fan there. Why are you getting so worked up over Sarah? You never normally do this.' Just then, Nathan's phone buzzed: a reply from Sarah. He read her text and smiled, quickly sending one back. But he was abruptly bought back to his heated 'discussion' with Jay.
'Because I would have liked to get to know her! You always steal the pretty girls, you don't bother about the other fans! Doesn't 'I'll be your strength' mean anything to you anymore? ' Jay was close to shouting now.
'So that's what you think I do, is it? You think I spend the day with the 'pretty' girls, and don't worry about the others?' Nathan raised his voice as well. Then, in a much quieter voice, he was hurt, 'It's good to know what you really think of me.'
With that Jay turned on his heel and calmly walked out of the room, though his arms were shaking. That is not what he had meant, and not how he'd intended for it to come out, and he didn't want to make things any worse between them. After all, she was just another girl who Nathan would forget about in a few weeks, wasn't she? Even though Jay hadn't spent as much time with her as Nathan had, he had an unfamiliar feeling when he saw or thought of her, a feeling he thought was attraction. But Nathan seemed more serious this time, he had been extremely happy after they had emerged from the woods together, holding hands. And he had been happy since.
Max passed Jay on his way into the kitchen and looked a little confused, but didn't question him.
'Hey, Nath, I need to talk to you.'
'What now? Please just leave me alone! I don't want to talk to you right now!' Nathan raised his voice a little, but not shouting, exasperated, again tapping away at his phone.
'Errr, Nath mate, you ok?'
'Oh, sorry Max, I thought you were Jay.' Nathan apologised, sighing.
'Shouldn't you be able to tell who I am from my voice by now? It has been three years.' Max joked. Nathan's phone vibrated again, and once more he replied to Sarah.
'Yeah, I can, I'm just annoyed with Jay and I'm busy on my phone, and I wasn't really paying attention to who it was. I thought it was Jay trying to apologise, and right now I don't want his pathetic little sorry.'
'Woah mate, I just wanted to have a quick chat.' Max replied, a little bit shocked at Nathan's outburst.
'Sorry.' Nathan mumbled. 'What did you want to say?'
'I just wanted to talk to you about Sarah.'
Nathan moaned, 'Not you too! Can't I have any privacy or choose my own relationships without other people butting in all the time?'
