The plane came to a halt and the sound of around 40 seatbelts being undone occurred. Mine was one of them. I stood up and stretched my legs after the 2 hours flight to Madrid. I grabbed my bag and moved out the way to let Michael out. He grabbed his bag and we all filed off the plane and out into the heated Madrid sunshine. I pulled out my shades and put them on to block out the sun a little.
We all made our way into the Spanish airport and lined up for passport control. I showed the guard my passport, he looked at me and winked. Cheeky bastard.
‘’he just winked at you didn’t he?’’ Michael jogged to catch up with me
‘’yeah…and?’’
‘’what did I tell you? Madrid men…’’ he shook his head
‘’it’s ok Michael, stop worrying about me and focus on your game, I don’t want me to be the reason that you get distracted’’. He smiled and nodded. We walked over to the case carousel and waited for a little while. We suddenly heard the sound of wheels and we both looked in sync over to the airport trolleys. We looked at each other and grinned before legging it over to them. I jumped on the front and Michael started to push me really fast before he jumped on the back.
‘’MOVE OUT THE WAY!’’ he screamed, making everyone laugh. Patrice jumped on one side of me and then Wazza on the other side. We ended up crashing into the wall with a very angry looking Sir Alex staring at us as we lay in a heap on the floor.
‘’and what do you think you’re playing at?’’ his Scottish accent made him sound ten times more threatening. We all looked at each other before Michael spoke up.
‘’It was me Sir Alex, don’t blame them-‘’ I stopped him and sighed.
‘’no it wasn’t, don’t blame any of them please Sir Alex, it was all completely my fault and I promise not to do anything like that again on this trip’’ he narrowed his eyes at me…’’or ever’’.
‘’that’s more like it’’ a smile grew on his face, ‘’now go and get you’re cases’’ he dismissed us and we did as we were told.
‘’What do you think would happen if I sat on this?’’ Patrice pointed to the moving carousel
‘’don’t even think about it’’ I put emphasis on ‘don’t’.
‘’yes mum’’ he rolled his eyes and I chuckled.
‘’Classic Patrice’’ me and Michael said in unison.
