*3 months later*
Michael had a game today so he had left earlier. Cristiano still had no idea about the baby and we intended for it to stay that way. Coleen (Wayne’s wife) had agreed to pick me up and take me to the match today. So by 1 in the afternoon, I was showered and dressed. Today was in fact the game closest to the anniversary of the Munich Disaster. Because of this, I wore my shirt that had ‘Edwards 6’ since that was the number he used to have most frequently.
I grabbed my phone and keys as I heard a horn beep from outside. Locking the door behind me, I climbed into Col’s car and she smiled at me. Kai started to giggle in the back.
‘’hey’’ she smiled
‘’hi, how are you?’’ I asked
‘’great thanks, and yourself and the little one’’ she directed her eyes at the tiny bump on my stomach.
‘’we’re both fine thanks, it’s hard though isn’t it, carrying a kid round in your stomach for ages!’’ she laughed
‘’yeah, but it’s all worth it in the end, isn’t it Kai?’’ Kai shouted ‘yes!’ back, even though he had no idea what we were talking about in the slightest. Me and Col laughed. ‘’Have you sorted out the whole Cristiano thing?’’ she asked whilst driving
‘’well kind of, my parents think it’ll be best if we try and get custardy over the baby when it’s born and then make Michael the legal father you know?’’ she nodded
‘’that’s the best thing to do, you don’t want him involved with your life any more than he already is’’ she smiled and I smiled back.
We jumped out of the car and were escorted into Old Trafford by security guards at our sides the whole time. I had a bunch of red roses in my hand and I’d made a specific request to go to the Munich Memorial so I could drop them off. Of course, I went. There was a large crowd outside it with people taking pictures but people knew who I was and mostly who my grandad was so they let me through. I blushed. I placed the flowers on the floor along with all the other wishes and gifts that were left. It’s amazing to see so much support for something that means so much to me and every single United fan across the world. I then stood up and turned to face the crowds.
‘’thank you for coming and paying your respects. It’s what my grandfather and all his team mates and people that lost their lives would cherish. For that, I can’t thank you enough’’ I smiled and they applauded me. I blushed again and was escorted to the seats where family and friends sit.
The game was fantastic, Giggsy’s first goal was amazing but then Van Persie’s goal made the roof lift off Old Trafford. It was a brilliant experience.
We waited till the crowds had died down till we made our way back to the players’ lounge. I went and leant on the bar, feeling slightly sorry for myself since my stomach was causing me the most pain ever right now. Suddenly, I felt a pair of arms wrap round my waist and 2 soft lips on my left cheek.
‘’are you alright?’’ Michael asked, looking at me
‘’I’m fine, just a little pain that’s all’’ I smiled weakly.
‘’come on babe, let’s get you home’’. He put his arm round my shoulders as we made our way out to the car.
