Mirror Kingdom- End is Near?

-Why now?

-Didn't you get it? I was in love with Marc, not stupid Alina, i always was the second plan... Highschool, college, everyone saw me as the background.. for her. And Marc? He fell in love with her.

-You still didn't answer my question.

-You see, finally i got my chance, and it wouldn't have happened without you.

-What? I don't understand.

-Well, you helped me in many ways, Devina, so thank you for that,- Rose noticed the girl looking at Demos,- he is having a long term sleep.

Demos was still lying on the floor, and he was in a trance, no one could get him out of.

-No one will hear you scream, and die, eventually, and i will be the hero to find you, and they will alarm, that there is a killer on the loose, but i will still be here.

-And then? You still will be rotting here!

-So? My only point is to kill Demos, and you, because he kissed you, and you are his true love. I wonder... what would he do, if he'd wake up and found you dead, with a knife in your chest.

-Don't do this, Rose...

-You wish, little girl,- she walked closer and Devina stepped back, her eyes searching for a weapon.- do you think, you can love him, even if he's ugly?

Rose laughed. The sound echoed in her room like a boomerang, making it all seem more scary than it was.

To Devinas surprise, Rose kicked Demos hard in his stomach, at least three times, before returning to her.

-Where was i,- Rose explained,- was a little distracted.

-Why you want to kill him now?

-What do you think, Devina? I was angry, when Alina got all, she got a loving husband, a little boy, who would grow into the beauty... but i got nothing...

-Have you ever thought how hard it was for her?

-Hard? For her? You must have never been alone, and scared...

-I have,- Devina spoke,- you think this is shitty? Being here? What do you think i feel? I am here, while my family is there. You think it's fantastic to be here against your will? To be in some kind of aranged marriage? Is that easy?

-Well, you certainly made a point, but soon, i will help you to escape all of this.

-Oh my...- Devina whispered,- did you... did you kill Alina?

-Yes,- Rose agreed,- i helped her to release her pain.

-Her pain?

-She wanted to go home so badly, that i gave her a chance.

Devina stepped back, silently praying that someone would look for her, when she knew no one will.

Her fear came climbing the window, that she will die young, that Demos will die, not getting his happiness after all.

-What are you thinking about? I always wonder, what is the last thing a person thinks before dying... so, what are you thinking about?

-You know, that moment, when everything comes flashing before your eyes.

-Yes, i know what you mean...

-Well,- Devina was ready to attack, even with her bare hands,- i guess one will never know.

She grabbed Rose's hand, and the knife flew away. In a matter of seconds both women were on the floor, fighting.

Rose punched Devina, and soon, she was on top of her. Rose didn't care who she was against, she just hit with all she got.

Devina felt her face getting numb, and when Rose turned to reach for the knife, Devina jumped on her back.

-No way you are going to succeed,- Devina shouted, but she didn't see the knife in Rose's hand, cutting it's way through her stomach.

The pain was making her eyes water and she tried not to show her weakness. Devina was on the floor, bleeding, when she saw something.

Devina didn't believe her eyes. She blinked twice, but tried not to pay too much attention. Demos was slowly coming awake.

-How does it feel?- Rose was mocking her.- you'll be surprised on how fast i can end someones life.

Devina wanted to spit on her, and scream into her face, how evil she is, and that she is crazy, but Demos started moving.

At least Rose was busy. She reached for the knife and pulled it out, making Devina gasp for air, and scream in pain.

She saw memories flashing before her eyes. Her parents kissing on every family celebration, her best friend crying on her shoulder.

Her childhood daydreams.

Devina saw her kissing the man in the mask, she saw him hugging her.

-You know what, Devina?- Rose spoke,- and now, right before your eyes i am going to kill your love, oh, this is so fascinating. I bet Demos doesn't realise that you are so shy because of one reason.

Demos walked closer to her, as quiet as he can. He wasn't sure how he would attack this woman, but he wouldn't take her life.

-Such a pretty face,- Rose whispered,- do you want me to sing you a lullaby?

Demos poked her back, and Rose turned, getting his fist in her face. When she was on the floor, Demos looked for something heavy.

-Demos, no!- Devina scream when Rose was on her feet and went to attack Demos.

He turned just in the right moment, a few seconds and he would've been stabbed. Their fighting continued, until the doors burst open.

The guards grabbed Rose before she even could understand what's happening, and Demos was beside Devina.

-Shhh, you will be alright,- he told her,- someone get the doctor, she's been stabbed, and she is dying!

Ruby ran into the room, and when she saw what has happened, she didn't waste any second.

-She needs to put a pressure on that wound,- Ruby managed to tear a peace of cloth from her dress, and put it where Devina was bleeding,- can you do that?

She looked at Demos, who's eyes showed just one emotion- fear of loosing her.
