Mirror Kingdom - Speaking of the Devil

Demos walked to the hall, hearing loud laughs, he stopped and started to walk slower.

-Who's in there?- he asked the guards.

-No one, what are you talking about?

The laughing became louder and he walked in, closing the huge door behind him.

-It's so good to see you, whoever you are...- a voice spoke.

-The Lady of the Dark?

-Yes,- she laughed. Her face was in every mirror.- not in the flesh, but im still alive.

-Why are you here?

-Oh, you've got something i need.

-And what is that?

-The little girl of yours, if she's dead, there is no savior, now is there?

-Leave her alone.

-Hmm, i can't do that. I didn't even know this day would come,- she laughed,- and it seems that just yesterday i cursed you.

-Well, let's start with the one fact, you didn't curse me, you cursed my family five thousand years ago.

-Is that so? What's your name king?

-Im Demos.

-Demos, mhm, what and interesting name, and the girl? How's she called?

-Her name is Devina.

-Devina, that's pretty,- she smiled an evil grin.

-Leave her alone, you have no business with her.

-Oh, but i do! I killed the previous savior, now i have to do the same.

-What?

-Oh, boy, you didn't know, did you?

-Where are you? And how are you still alive?

-Do you really think i will tell you? Wow, you are the best one so far.

-You said something about the previous savior... who was she?

-Oh, you don't know her, it was at least seven hundred years ago, she was young, so nice and innocent, no wonder why the king chose her.

The doors opened and Nathan walked in, holding Casseys hand.

-What is that?- the Lady of the Dark asked,- is it your son? Isn't he a doll. And who's the girl?

-Im Cassey, his bride.

-What?- all of the sudden she was angry,- it is true? True loves kiss is real? I ...

She lost her words, and there were more footsteps, soon Devina and Ruby was in the hall. Well, it looked like Devina running away and Ruby trying to catch her.

-I told you to keep her safe!

-And i did, but she ran off!

-Isn't it nice! All family together!- the witch spoke loud and clear, and when her face disapeared from all the mirrors, she was on the throne within seconds.

-Get Devina away from here!

-Im not leaving you,- Devina ran to Demos and the witch giggled.

-Something funny?- Ruby asked.

-And who are you?- the witch asked.

-Im the bitch that's going to stop you!

Ruby ran to the throne, and before the witch could blink, Ruby got her down on the ground.

Devina wanted to help and ran to join the fight. Cassey couldn't, because Nathan was holding her too tight.

With one blast of magic, Devina and Ruby were both to the other side of the big hall, both groaning in pain.

Devina saw blood pouring through her gown, from her wound.

Ruby got up quite fast and ran back, the witch was in all the mirrors again.

-Looks like im still powerful enough to curse you again,- she laughed.

The light of some kind of magic poured from all the mirrors and went straight to Devina. Demos ran to save her, and when the blast went their direction it hit Demos, not Devina.

-Nooooo!

The Lady of the Dark screamed on top of her lungs. Devina crawled to Demos and took his head in her hands.

-Demos,- tears started flowing down her face,- i love you Demos. Please, don't leave me.

She whispered kissing his lips.

All the mirrors shattered, and Nathan shielded Cassey and Ruby from the pieces of glass, while Devina cried, hugging Demos body, and at the same time shielding him.

-It's not over yet!

Lady of the Dark stepped away from the mirrors and walked out as if nothing has happened.
