Mirror Kingdom- Agreement, Private policies

The next morning when Devina woke up, she hoped that she was back home, but reality was harsh.

She was still here.

-I can't believe i slept at all.

The breakfast was on the table, and she turned to see Ruby. But she wasn't there.

-I swear we were both sleeping in this bed when i last saw her.

She got out of the bed and saw bunny slippers, which fit her feet perfectly. She drank her tea, which still was hot, and the breakfast was similar to what she usually ate.

After a few peaceful minutes the door burst open and Ruby walked in, dressed in a wonderful full length light pink dress.

Devina couldn't close her mouth, and stop staring.

-How do you like it?

-Aha,- Devina was still staring. Ruby walked like a model and took a look in the mirror on the wall.

She even had matching high heels.

-I will walk around the palace, if you don't mind,- and with that she was gone.

Devina wanted to take a closer look of her room, and after few minutes she found a paper and a pen.

When she was done writing, she walked towards what looked like a closet. She opened it and saw light colour dresses. Dosens of them.

No trousers, no jeans, no pants what so ever.

Corsets. What?

Lace panties, bras, everything looked expensive.

Shoes.

Oh, the shoes.

A dream come true.

She took the most simple dress and shoes, that matched apparently, and she walked to the big hall, where the king and his son always were.

Guards opened the door, as everyone knew who she is, or, who she will be in the nearest future.

-Morning beautiful,- Nathan greeted her.

-I have come to discuss something.

-And what would that be?

-Our agreement.

-You mean the wedding agreement.

-Yes.

-Im listening,- even Demos payed attention.

-If i am to agree to all of this, i want something in return,- Devina took out a peace of paper,- number one. I get a chance to see my family for the last time, at least to explain what happened. Number two. I don't care how, but you take care of my friend Cassey who is in my world, so she has all she needs. Number three- return Ruby home.

-You know i can't return anyone home. If you are here, it means- forever.

-Why?- Devinas eyes watered.

-Devina,- he wasn't able to touch her, bet being close to her was enough to calm her,- it is the rules, that have been made long time ago.

-I don't care!

-I do,- Demos stood up and got closer to them,- the rules are more than five thousand years old. They were made for a reason, and you know that.

-Yes, i do.

-So you understand, that it's not Nathans nor my fault that life isn't fair.

-I know.

-We will try to do what you asked for, but i cannot promise anything. But talking on the agreements, we have to call the council and then we can talk about it. Are you ready to discuss it?

-I think i am.

Demos walked out of the hall, leaving Nathan and Devina, and he ran into Ruby.

-Oh, hi!

-Hello,- Ruby smiled. Demos breathed in the scent and he knew that she has taken a bath with one of the luxorious bath bombs.

She was wearing a pink gown, that fit her perfectly, as Demos knew it would, and he smiled back.

-Would you like to join me for a walk?

-Aren't you suppose to call the council or something?

-Were you listening behind these doors?

-I, uhm, nooo....- Ruby giggled.- can i ask you something?

-Sure,- Demos opened the door to the garden and the smell of flowers made her dizy.

-Wow,- Demos held her.

-Calm down, you're alright, - he helped Ruby to get back on her feet.

The air felt different, a little bit heavier, flowers were amazingly beautiful and extraordinary. Everything felt surreal.

-You wanted to ask me a question,- Demos smiled.

-Yes, i did. Did you chose clothes for me...?

-I did, and the rest as well, with the help of some maids. You like them?

-Yes, they are quite remarkable. Thank you.

They walked to a tree that looked like something similar to the Evil Queens apple tree, Demos took an apple and handed it to Ruby.

-Try it,- but Ruby hesitated.

-Can i eat it? It looks poisonous.

-Why would you think that?

-I mean, i've red to many stories,- finally she took a bite and her mouth was filled with freshness of the tastiest apple she had ever eaten.- wow!

Demos showed his dashing, a little twisted smile, showing his dimples. Ruby watched this gorgeous man in an ave.

Wow, one can truly drool on someone like him.

-Why do you all look the same?

-A?- Demos was thinking of something and didn't hear a question.- sorry, may you repeat?

-I am wondering, how come you all look the same.

-Me and my son?

-Your father, your grandfather, every man before you, and why there is no woman born here?

-Those are some interesting questions, but i can answer them after a while, the council is here and i must leave you. If you can't find the exit, ask the flowers.

And with that Demos was gone within seconds.

-Ask the flowers? Are you serious?

Ruby walked the path they have came together, but she couldn't find anything similar to what she had seen before.

-How do i ask?- she looked at the plants around her.- i feel stupid.

The huge doors opened and the council members came in, making a circle, and in the middle of it, appeared a table, Nathan mentioned to Devina to sit down.

-She has some terms,- Nathan said.

-We would like to listen to them and then figure things out,- one of the council man said,- where is your father?

In a sudden movement Demos was sitting in one of the chairs.

-Did i miss something?

-We were about to start, so where was I. The girl has conditions, we would like for you to tell them to us now, so we can consider if they are an option at all.

-I wrote them down,- she handed the paper to the elder and waited for his response.

-We can try number one and two, but the third one is not acceptable.

-Yes,- everybody nodded,- No one can leave.
