1. The beginning of the end.

Dream's feet pattered continously against the forest floor with loud 'thuds' and clashing sounds. The dead, orange and brown leaves that had fallen off the trees and littered the ground were being brutally crunched under his feet during the process as he darted in a straight line.

The cool breeze from the autumn atmosphere slapped his face, side to side, over and over. The wind ruffled his dirty blonde locks, sending it standing messily in a thousand different directions.

The green eyed boy's chest heaved as he continued running- any sort of air he once had in his lungs vanished in a blink of an eye as he pressed on and went beyond his limits.

It felt like someone was pressing their heel against his upper body, teasing him as his anatomy lost all air, refusing to let go without some sort of fight.

His throat and mouth grew dry, scratchy and desperate for some kind of beverage to quench his unexplainable thirst.

He panted aggressively and uncontrollably as he made a sharp right turn, heading in that direction which had the same surroundings like every other part of the forest he's discovered.

Dream kept sprinting as fast as he could, but when everything seemed to go quiet for just a second, the blonde's movements hesitantly slowed, coming to an abrupt stop as he leaned his left hand against a tall, thick tree and his right on his thigh as he crouched, failing to catch his breath.

He took the white mask, which he always wore, off his face as a better strategy.

The mask was white, as said before, with a poorly drawn smiley face on it in black ink.

The disguise was able to fully cover his face as he did whatever was needed to be done by a black strap that was fastened at the back of his head.

The blonde felt the insides of his body warm, feeling as if he were dipped into a lake of boiling hot water in hell. His clothing was drenched in his own sweat as his own heartbeat pounded rapidly in his ears, making it the only thing he could hear at the moment.

Finally, after several attempts, he fortunately gained some what control of his breathing pattern, his adrenaline slowly, but surely, dying down.

He readjusted his posture and pressed his back against the same tree as before, slightly slouching out of exhaustion and partial relief.

He tilted his head up and allowed his hands to fall to his side as his palms remained pressed up against the tree trunk.

The low glow of rays of sunlight that peaked through the leaves of the never ending canopies illuminated against the emerald eyed boy's face, making a clear appearance of his tanned skin that was littered with freckles.

The American man sighed in content and let his eyes fall shut for just a moment as he listened to the birds sing a melodious and rhythmic tune.

He listened to the aforementioned animals', which were infront of a beautiful, deep dark blue waterfall, wings flap graceiously. The transparent water clashed against the rocks that laid limp at the bottom of the river mixed with the birds chirping away like there was no tomorrow were like music to his ears.

By this time, the blonde had full control of the way he inhaled and exhaled again, his chest rising and falling ever so slowly as he felt content in the peaceful airspace he'd found himself in.

After so many days and nights of being on the run and having to continously watch over his shoulder truly did make the moment unreal.

The tall man opened his eyes after enjoying the quiet, the only thing being heard were the sounds that came from the animals, along with the low groans of wind that gushed by every now and then which sounded like a pack of baby wolves howling into the broad moon light.
