Dream and George relished in the moment, inhaling sharply. It felt like taking a fresh breath of air for the first time in weeks, which was quite literally. After so long, they were finally out and free, ready to set off for another adventure.
George leaned against a tree trunk that was coincidentally located behind him, slowly sliding down as a happy sigh left his lips, his eyes falling shut for just a second as he listened to the familiar sounds of the wind gushing about; a sound that he hadn't heard in what seemed like forever. Both boys took notice that it was nearing winter now; the once autumn ground which was once present a few months ago was now replaced with an extremely thin layer of soft, white bedding.
George reopened his eyes once he heard shuffling beside him, feeling the bodywarmth of Dream as the latter sat down next to him, a sigh, as well, leaving his lips. They sat in silence for a few peaceful moments, enjoying the space and atmosphere that they had discovered once more. The brunette glanced over when Dream gently nudged him, a smile plastering his freckled face and George couldn't help but smile back.
"You okay?" Dream asked. "More than okay," the brunette concluded, resisting the urge to melt into the taller's side; his warmth keeping him at the right temperature during the cold. Almost as if the sea green eyed boy had read his thoughts, he hummed quietly under his breath, slung a arm over the shorter's shoulders and pulled him in. This action caused George to sigh in content, mentally thanking the American.
About thirty minutes past with the boy's enjoying eachother's company in silence and the calmness of the environment, but it soon clicked in Dream's mind that they had a mission at hand, so, with all the might he could muster, he was shaking George lightly, the boy having fallen asleep a few minutes ago, and Dream hated that he had to wake him up; the British knight looking pretty and at ease while in his slumber, but though uncomfortable with all the heavy armor covering his body.
"George," the American quietly muttered, kissing the brunette's temple as an attempt to awaken the boy. "George," he tried again, this time, dragging out his name, as he trailed kisses along the length of the knight's jaw. George's eyelids twitched in the slightest, a groan leaving his lips as he desperately tried to cling onto the darkness that had once consumed him. "Wake up, love," Dream cooed, brushing back the shorter's hair out of his beautiful, resting face. George unintentionally melted against the other's touch, and with all the energy he could gather, he pried a single eye open; only to be met with a smiling Dream.
The sight alone was enough for a ghosted smile to kiss George's lips as he tiredly muttered, "Hi." His accent heavy with sleep. "Goodmorning," Dream hummed, littering the boy's face with a few more kisses before he was pushing himself up, George watching him with curious eyes. The blonde laughed at his dumbfounded expression, outstretching a hand down to him in which the shorter took gratefully; hoisting himself up with little to no effort as the sea green eyed boy pulled him up. "Where we headed?" George asked as a yawn followed his sentence. The blonde thought about it for a second, scratching his chin before angling his body in an awkward position.
George cocked a strange eyebrow at him, his hands resting on his waist sassily as he asked, "What are you doing?" Dream momentarily glanced over his shoulder before looking back ahead, taking a few moments of silence before he finally responded with, "Checking the direction. Cmon, we're headed north." Dream turned back to George, who wore a confused expression but didn't bother questioning it further more. "Alright," George retorted with a small stretch, still a bit grumpy from being awaken. Dream laughed at the shorter in fondness, and with that, they set out on a quiet, peaceful walk to the North-East of them.

"Dream," George said, dragging out the boy's name in an annoyed manner as he tailed him from a few metres behind. The taller ignored the boy, though an amused smile was plastered on his face. "Dream, please," the brunette desperately pleaded once more, on the verge of getting on his knees if that's what Dream wanted, if it meant that he'd get what he wanted.
"No, George. We already took a break like twenty minutes ago and I know you aren't tired," the sea green eyed boy chuckled, receiving another loud groan from short, brunette boy behind him. For the past two hours and a half, George had constantly been asking for traveling breaks or nap breaks, and for the first few times he'd asked, Dream delivered; letting the boy rest for as long as needed, but not wanted. However, the blonde was smart enough to realize that it was slowly becoming a reoccurring pattern, and though he hated saying no to George, he refused the boy's request each time ever since.
"Come on, George," the blonde urged, and George followed him without another word, a pout plastered on his face which only caused Dream to scoff playfully under his breath; finding amusement in the boy's childish and immature actions. But suddenly, when things we just beginning to calm down and the heat had cooled down, an agonizing, loud snap was heard from the back of them; the sound echoing throughout the mist casted forest.
This caused Dream to react quickly as he swiftly turned around on his heel, pushing George behind him a bit out of instinct. Though Dream was practically unarmed, only having his combat skills to keep whatever or whoever was there at bay, he was ready and prepared to protect George at all costs, even though the brunette knight had a sharp tipped sword hanging from his waist band.
"Who's there?" Dream demanded, his command coming out as a low growl as another large snap was heard, a bit closer than before. The sea green eyed boy squinted his eyes, it being hard to make out any sort of silhouette with the heavy contrast of mist and snow. But unexpectedly, a grey, furry, short animal emerged from the fog, causing Dream's blood to run cold and his face to drain with colour.
A wolf?
