The sun was just beginning to dip below the treeline while Dream laid, for the first time, comfortably on the makeshift bed, George laying on his chest while his tanned fingers got tangled within the boy's chestnut hair.

It was the first time in a while that the duo finally felt content with the space they shared. Sure, they were always somewhat comfortable being around one another, but this time was different, obviously. They felt full and complete, and that's exactly how George wished to feel every second of the day. It felt great and George had secretly applauded himself for gaining the courage to tell Dream his emotions, to let him pass a barrier which only a few people managed to break. George had put himself in such a vulnerable position and the odds were that Dream would've used that at his advantage, or make fun of him in some way.

But Dream didn't. Instead, he listened intently to everything George had to say and held him close when he cried, though George seemed to be the problem; Dream still did it anyway. The thought alone made George's stomach twist in a way he was still becoming familiar with, but when Dream flashed him his famous, goofy grin, he knew that he would be just fine. Though unfamiliar, as said before, George already loved the way that Dream made him feel, and he was slowly coming to terms that this was okay. It still scared him, even the faintest thought about what everyone else would say or do, but right now, at the moment, he was happy; happier than anytime before, and that's all that mattered.

"George," Dream called out softly, careful not to startle the boy incase he was asleep. But when George hummed back in response, the blonde continued in a slightly higher tone. "My wound is better. The infection went away and it doesn't hurt anymore; it's nothing but a scarred spot now. So we can start moving again anytime you'd like," the sea green eyed boy said, sounding muffled because George's overgrown curls was right beneath his chin. The hunter tilted his head to look up at him, a smile spreading across his face. "Alright then," George retorted, pushing himself up slowly with a stretch, following by a stretched out groan.

Dream raised an eyebrow at this, tilting his head questioningly in the direction of the other. "What do you think you're doing?" He questioned with a playful pout, already missing the warmth that radiated off the shorter's body. George just rolled his eyes, gathering his armor which he had taken off again a few days earlier prior. "Getting ready to leave, idiot," he responded, a smile still plastered on his face. Dream's eyes widened momentarily, quickly sitting up and pushing himself at the edge of the makeshift bed. "Wait, what? Now?" He asked in a confused tone, slowly rising from his position on the cuboid concrete. George laughed softly under his breath, adjusting his armor chest plate as he hooked his sword back onto his waistband, as well as Dream's pouch.

"Why not? We've got nothing to lose and I'm not tired," George retorted, walking over to the few sacks that was already there when they first arrived, picking them up as everything in it was worth something, even if it was small. Dream didn't respond for a while, holding George's intense eye contact. Dream wasn't tired either, however, he would've much preferred to stay there and lay back down with George wrapped around his body, but since him and George were only starting to get used to their new dynamic with one another, he couldn't find the courage to say something like that to him, not now, anyways.

With a dramatic sigh, Dream agreed, fixing his hoodie around his large, built frame before saying, "Alright, then. You ready?" He questioned, taking some of the sacks from George's hands while the brunette smiled gratefully at him. The short, brunette hunter hummed back in response, leading the taller out of the cave, the sunset flaring a beautiful shade of orange in the sky. George stopped for second, admiring the beautiful view as he got enhanced by the sight. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" Dream muttered quietly under his breath from behind him, slipping his hands around the curve of his waist. George tensed at the sudden touch, but soon melted back against Dream's chest, nodding slowly in agreement.

"Is this okay?" The sea green eyed boy murmured under his breath in a questioning tone, just above a whisper, as he placed a soft, delicate kiss on George's exposed shoulder. The knight tipped his head back a bit out of instinct, giving Dream more access, indicating that it was indeed alright. Dream laughed under his breath as the boy had basically acted on impulse, squeezing his waist gently. Dream trailed his now exposed neck with sweet, sloppy, wet kisses, often whispering sweet things into the shorter's ear. But unluckily for George, the blonde pulled away from him after some time causing the brunette to pout and the once masked man to laugh again.

"It's okay, Georgie. There's plenty of me for you to have," Dream whispered teasingly, his hot breath washing over the boy's cold skin as he took a step back, spinning George around to face him with a fond, innocent smile now plastering his pink, plumped lips. A satisfied hum errupted from deep in his chest when a dark crimson colour took place on George's face, spreading across his cheeks and deepening with each passing second they maintained eye contact. "Pretty," the blonde murmured, completely transfixed on the small brunette as he pulled him in from the waist, rubbing soothing circles against the skin.

George blushed even more if that was possible, muttering a quiet 'Thank you' under his breath before tearing his gaze away, flustered. Dream's smile grew, because he didn't even know that the words had managed to escape his lips until George reacted. With one swift movement, Dream was tilting George's chin up to look at him, connecting their lips for a sweet, soft and slow kiss. George hummed into the kiss, pleased with the attention he was receiving.

Once they pulled apart, they smiled at one another, relishing in eachother's warmth and comfort before pulling apart, deeming it about time they set out for yet another adventure that laid ahead of them. But however hard it was and whatever the universe might throw their way, they had eachother, and that's all that mattered.
