It was night time now as the common camp fire was dimly lit, providing a familiar warmth for both boys.
Dream was currently leaned up against the wall as he sat, a position that seemed to be his favorite due to how much he does it, while George was laying on his back, one foot up while the other was crossed over it. The brunette used one hand to prop his head up from the uncomfortable concrete while the next drifted above his face aimlessly as he discovered multiple constellations in the stars that shimmered above him.
The hours had went by agonizingly slow, nothing but silence filling the atmosphere. Along with brief glances that were sent to one another before immediately tearing their gaze away from eachother.
Dream had contemplated on breaking the tense airspace, but backed down on his idea everytime, fearing what he was scared of before. Guilt swallowed the blonde criminal whole, causing his stomach to swirl with nerves uncomfortably as he prayed for the feeling to go away, atleast for a second. The masked man let out an inaudible sigh as he lightly blew on the igniting flames, causing it to go out in mere seconds as he made the decision to let his mind rest for the night. Groggily, he pushed himself down onto the floor, hastily turning his back to the other as his eye lids slowly fluttered shut, only now realizing how tired he actually was.
George glanced over at the other once he noted that the flames had went out, a slight shiver running down his spine as a gentle breeze blew, the orange flames no longer there to keep him warm. The brunette's lips parted slightly as his eyes stayed glued on the sea green eyed boy, watching as his messy, blonde locks stood in different directions, his mask loosely and carelessly hanging over his face as he fell into a deep slumber. A well known frown pulled at the corners of the brunette's lips.
"Did I do something wrong?" George questioned himself over and over as he desperately hoped that an answer would come to him, but it never arrived.
The brit sighed in disappointment and pure confusion, but that look of dismay was wiped from his face in a lightning second. Brown doe eyes glittered and lit up in excitement as an unexpected idea came to mind. George grinned to himself, turning onto his side so he faced the other as he felt content with his option. The brunette smiled warily at the blonde's back before yawning, drifting away into a world that only existed in his imagination.
George had thought of something that him and his mother used to do whenever they got the opportunity to. It was childish, yes, but it held great meaning and it will always be something the brunette enjoyed doing. Since tonight held the last few hours the hunter and the criminal had in Hails' Cove, the brunette wanted to take Dream back to The Mysterious Tree one last time and carve both their initials into the trunk of the plant, a marker that showed that they were once here. Whoever were to stumble along the pathway of the ravine and found the sapling would discover the letters, being left with the thought of who left them there or what the letters stood for.

George was the first one up, awakening just before the sun rose as he listened to the calming melody the birds sang. The brunette played with his fingers, lowly humming the song Dream had sang to him nights ago in order not to wake the latter.
However, a small groan of discomfort left the blonde's mouth as he twisted in irritation, his eye lids parting ever so slightly as he was met with the view of the dull looking sky, as said before, it still being extremely early. Dream huffed out a breathless sigh, pushing himself up as he ignored the soreness that pulsed throughout his veins after laying on the rock hard surface for hours on end.
The brunette's eyes flickered over to the other, watching him look around with a scrunched up expression and furrowed eyebrows, seemingly conflicted, before his mind registered his surroundings.
Eventually, Dream turned his head in the direction of George, holding eye contact for a while before swallowing down a nervous lump, diverting his gaze as he forced himself to stand up, resisting the urge to stumble back as his leg was attacked with cramps.
