It was safe to say that both Tommy and Wilbur were thrilled to see eachother again, but honestly, they were all happy to be reunited with one another. During the few nights that Tommy agreed to stay with them, they laughed and told jokes around a campfire, told stories and brought up unforgettable memories. They also, unsurprisingly, spoke about the things they've experienced and discovered; most of them regarding the search for Knight George.
Everytime the brit's name came up, it would send a shock wave of shivers down each of their spines, because even though they've given their time and effort for months on end in looking for the runaway boy and they've held out hope that he was okay, they truly had no way of telling if he was or not. And so, the only thing they could do was sit back and wish for the best.
"Wilbur," Tommy called out, approaching the Head Hunter who was stood a little away from the group, leaning against a rocky build. Upon hearing his name, the taller looked in the direction of the brit, a small smile playing at the corner of his pink, plumped lips. "What's up?" Wilbur questioned, meeting the boy half-way. The first thing Wilbur was soon to notice was that Tommy seemed jittery, nervous and on edged, almost as if though he were afraid to speak his next words: "I think it's time for me to go back to Sapnap. I know he's not worried about me, obviously because I'm completely capable of looking out for myself, but he's probably wondering what's taking me so long."
Wilbur wanted to laugh at the other's cockiness, but the mere thought of the same boy having to leave again was enough to send that joyous bubble of happiness far down into the depths of his core. "Oh." was all the brunette could manage to get out, watching the younger with slightly widened eyes. Tommy, knowing the look all too well, was quick to reassure Wilbur, saying, "It's okay, Wil. It's not last time we'll be seeing each other again, I promise." And the taller believed his words, one hundred percent, but still, he couldn't phantom the fact that this is where they parted once more for God knows how long.
Wilbur was unknowingly entranced into a daze, only being brought out of it when the shorter cleared his throat; the sound ringing in the taller's ears. "Or, uh," Tommy began, glancing away momentarily as he rubbed the back of his neck shamefully. Wilbur was overwhelmed with confusion, but that conflict soon turned into pride as he watched a light shade of red dust the other's tanned cheeks. The Head Hunter allowed a smirk to break free, one of his eyebrows cocked as he tilted his head to the side in just the slightest. "What are you trying to tell me, Tommy?" He asked, mindful of the boy's 'vulnerable' state. Tommy's face burned into a darker crimson shade as he muttered out swear words to himself under his breath. But with a sharp inhale, he was bravely locking eyes with the other.
"Wilbur," Tommy said, "I think that it would be a good idea for you and the rest of your camp to come back to mine." The words only made Wilbur's smile grow, and before he could even fully think about the decision he was bound to make, he found himself nodding. Tommy seemed taken aback; his eyes wide and his lips parted a bit in disbelief. "Wait-- really!?" The shorter brunette exclaimed, his lips ticking up into a fond smile when the other nodded once more, this time more confident in his choice. "Woah," Tommy breathed out, "that's great. Thank you, Wil." Wilbur just patted the boy's back in response before he was saying, "Let's go catch up with the others to tell them." And with that, the Head Hunter walked off; Tommy trailing behind him like a lost puppy.
While walking, Wilbur could practically feel the excitement radiating off the other knight, and the feeling alone that he was able to make someone as important to him as Tommy happy made him feel good about himself.
Eventually, they found the rest of their group, and once they broke the news to them, they all fully supported and agreed with them; finding it sensible and reasonable than what they could've come up with in the future. "Okay, so, how are we going to do this?" Tubbo asked, a hint of anxiousness lingering in his tone of voice. This was normal for Tubbo; he always got nervous over the smallest of things-- some things weren't even important half the time. But still, Wilbur would always see this as a good trait to have because, in his opinion, second guessing everything is better than doing something and then regretting it in the future. "Here's the plan," the Head Hunter breathed out, his eyes flickering among the people stood before him with curious eyes.
"First of all, I just wanna make it clear that we will be going together as a group. Under no circumstance should we split and go in different directions. We will make this transition of bringing the camps together quickly and smoothly; no issues should arrive on our path," Wilbur spoke firmly and commandinly, his courage and bravery showing promtly as his demeanor was tight and pronounced. Just one look in the taller brunette's eyes and you'd be able to see the fire which burned low behind his dark irises, waiting to be lit and ignited. This was something that everyone always admired about Wilbur; how he held the capability to handle not only groups of people, but nations, in a respective and dominant way. "We'll double back for the horses and then each one of us will play an important part while guiding our people. Do I make myself clear?" Wilbur questioned, receiving nods from his mates.
"Alright, then," he concluded, his eyes glancing up at the orange coloured sky briefly. "Well, let's get going now. Chop, chop. No time to lose."
