George was ecstatic when Dream told him that he had believed him.
By now, the brunette had grown used to the voice of his sister, and each time he heard her, he would tell Dream.
Dream often gave him advice such as ; try to navigate where the sound was coming from, but of course, to no luck did that ever work.
In addition to that, George had found an odd sense of comfort in Amber's voice. He wasn't scared and shocked like before, but he was now happy and grateful everytime he heard her. Mainly because he wasn't used to hearing her all the time anymore, and so when he did, he was thankful, because he didn't know when the last time he heard her would come.
As both boys huddled up near the camp fire, they laughed at one another as they were both shivering uncontrollably. It had rained heavily earlier, that caused a cool, timid atmosphere. They duo had gotten soaked due to standing in the aggressive showers for fun and the cool breezes that were left behind weren't helping.
"I told you this wasn't a good idea," George muttered, his teeth clattering together as he half regretted the fun he had in the rain.
The blonde scoffed. "Oh, come on now. You know playing in the rain was and is fun," the other defended.
A small smile curled up on the brunette's lips. "It is. I haven't played in the rain since I was just a boy," the brit chuckled, memories of his childhood flashing in his mind before his life became a living hell.
The blonde nodded happily in agreement.
Even though they were in a difficult, life or death situation, they still had fun, and maybe, just maybe, that was enough for them.
If their time were to come soon, they were happy with the memories they were making, despite the circumstances.
"I'm almost dried now though, you?" Dream asked, the hands that were comfortably wrapped around himself to keep him warm loosened.
"Oh, me?" George scoffed. "Please. I've been dry. I didn't act like a hooligan in the showers, unlike you. I'm just cold as hell."
The taller chuckled in amusement. "Wait, so you didn't get wet?"
The brunette looked up as the blonde rose to his feet. "I did, but it evaporated pretty quickly due to the heat of the fire, and because, I was much more less soaked than you," he briefly explained.
Dream lifted an eyebrow behind his mask. "What's with the sass?" He asked.
George just shrugged. The brunette didn't know how to respond to that, he thought that it was clear to everyone that being sassy was, well, apart of him.
As if the taller could read his mind, he chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I know it's in you."
The brit punched the other's foot, but not denying the previous statement. This action, however, caused the emerald eyed boy to laugh even more. Dream's laugh escalated into something George had never heard before. It sounded almost as if he were.. a kettle?
The shorter couldn't help but let a goofy grin mark his lips. He cocked a curious and interested eyebrow, watching as the blonde doubled over from wheezing so hard.
When the eruption of happy sounds died out, George asked, "Is that your laugh?"
Dream tensed for a bit, completely unaware that he had shown the brunette his real laugh for the first time on accident. Well, not on accident, but nothing was funny enough for him to laugh like that, meaning that the brit hadn't heard him when he was actually really happy until now.
The blonde rubbed behind of his neck, getting slightly subconscious about the way he sounded. "Oh- uh.." he chuckled nervously.
"I like it," George blurted out, seemingly in a slight daze but also in the right state of mind.
This, as expected, took the masked man by surprise. "R- really?" He asked with slightly widened eyes, his tone laced with obvious stun.
The brunette nodded as he responded truthfully, "Yeah, it's funny and well, contagious."
The said statement caused a warm-hearted smile to appear on the tanned man's face.
"Thank you," he said uncertainly.
George didn't respond. Instead, he just kept his eyes on the smiley faced mask. He wasn't paying attention to the reality world as the laugh of the killer replayed over and over in his mind, not daring to leave him alone until it's engraved in his memory.
Dream seemed to notice that the brunette had spaced out, and so he asked, "George, are you okay?"
Brown colored eyes drifted back into corporeality. As the brunette opened his mouth to answer, his lips were instantly plastered with a giddy smile, one that confused the tall blonde to his very core.
"What? What are you suddenly smiling at?" Dream asked, biting back a small smile that threatened to break his neutral expression, though covered by the white piece of plastic.
George's smile was also so contagious to Dream, as well as his laugh. It seemed as if no matter the mood the blonde was in, the brunette would always find a way to carve a smile on his face. It seemed almost nearly impossible to not return the kind action the brit offered.
Honey brown eyes glittered with happiness and excitement. "It's Amber," he said, his smile only expanding.
This is when the emerald eyed boy decided to let his joyful smile break his forced expression behind the mask, showing his jovial grin.
"George.." Amber said, just like all the other times.
"George.." The name was repeated, but the only difference was thar this time, it wasn't Amber.
The brunette's eyes widened even more at the voice, voices, that were calling out to him.
Blissful tears stung at his eyes as he choked out, "D-Damon?" He chuckled afterwards. George's brother's voice hadn't changed one bit. It was just like he had remembered it being. "Is that.. really you?"
"What?! No way- your brother's speaking to you now?!" Dream exclaimed, quite merry for the other's feeling.
The brit nodded happily, droplets dripping from his eyes as he scoffed at himself being this gullible, and especially infront of Dream, who, on the other hand, didn't seem to mind one bit.
"Follow my voice, big brother.." Damon said, his voice fading out into one direction.
The brunette's eyes widened again. "Wait- he's saying something," he informed Dream.
It was quite shocking for the duo, George mainly. All these days the brit just hear Amber call his name, but now he was hearing the his younger brother, Damon, not only call his name, but also say something different than.
"Really? What's he saying?" The blonde asked enthusiastically, interest dripping from his tone.
"He's saying to follow his voice. I can also hear him coming from that direction now," George answered as he pointed to one of the pathways connected to the caves, signaling where he had narrowed down the sound to come from.
"Okay- great! Let's go!" The blonde said, pulling the mocha colored eyed boy up from sitting infront of the fire on the floor and full on yanking him by the arm.
The shorter chuckled at the other's excitement. "Okay, okay," he said breathlessly as he regained his balance from the sudden action.
But, unexpectedly, before they could make it in a close range of the trail, Amber's voice calmly interrupted, causing George to tug on Dream's hoodie, indicating for him to stop walking, as he did.
"Don't listen to him," the brunette's sister spoke.
"You can trust me, hermano," Damon defended in a tone just as calm as his sister.
George looked at Dream as if he knew what to say, which he obviously didn't. The blonde, thankfully, wasn't pushy about the abrupt stop. Instead, he stood in the place he was halted at, patiently waiting for the brunette as he knew what was going on in the other's head.
"His voice means to deceive you. My voice just wants to lead you," the girl spoke, her voice laced with the all too familiar heavy, British accent.
