Chapter 1

Twenty years have passed since the recapture of Erebor and the events of Ravenhill. Thorin is great as King under the Mountain, I'm very proud of him as well as brothers. Oakenshield divided power so that each of them ruled some part. Everything was going well, I was happy that I got my family back, made new friends and a husband whom I loved more than my life.

One day a messenger from Rivendell came to Erebor, which surprised me greatly. He brought a letter from Lord Elrond informing him of the meeting. It was a matter of life and death, but Thorin, unfortunately, couldn't go there. The fate of the kingdom now rested on his shoulders, and he couldn't just leave it there. So we decided to go with Kili for him. Oakenshield reluctantly agreed. At first Fili was supposed to come with us, but we decided, that it would be better if he stayed and helped Thorin. And so it happened.

Today we arrived in Rivendell. It was nice to see this beautiful place again. Nothing has changed. It still amazed with its beauty, both inside and out.

"It's nice to be back here. " Kili said and helped me get off my horse.

"Yes. " I supported him and with his help I got off my steed. "I missed this. " I sent him a smile, which he immediately returned.

"Mellondil!*" Called a voice so familiar to me. We turned to see Elrond with Gandalf standing next to him. "Welcome! " They came to us.

"Nice to see you again! " I said with a smile on my face and then, together with Kili, we bowed to the elf.

"Nice to see you too. " Gandalf gave us a warm smile. "And so I thought you would come. " He added and we hugged in greeting.

"Well, Thorin has too much on his mind." My husband replied. "My brother was supposed to come with us, but in the end he stayed to help my uncle. "

"You did well. " Elrond replied. "Come, it's time to find out what's going on. " Kili and I both nodded and followed them.

Wizard and Lord told us the story of the making of the rings and how Sauron secretly forged the only ring that ruled over everyone. I figured it was the ring our burglar found. Frodo, Bilbo's nephew, showed great courage and brought the ring here, to Rivendell. It also showed that he was incredibly immune to its powers.

Sauron has hidden particles of his soul in the ring, and now he grows stronger with each passing minute. He has taken the form of a large fiery eye on top of a tower in Mordor and is looking for his property. Saruman, who was Gandalf's mentor, turned out to be a traitor and Sauron's ally. Now he's looking for a ring, for his master. Ring which must be destroyed as quickly as possible. Someone has to undertake this trip and that is why the meeting was called.

We were just walking towards the meeting point when suddenly we came across Legolas and some other arrivals.

"Legolas! " I called cheerfully and walked over to say hi.

"Malia! Kili! How nice to see you guys again! " He said after we hugged.

"You too." Kili replied with a smile.

Much has changed over the past years. We made friends with the elves. But it's true that not every dwarf and not every elf agreed to it, which caused quarrels.

"Gimli! " I greeted the dwarf who was Gloin's son. After a while, Kili did the same. This is what I meant by Gimli. This dwarf didn't like elves, especially Legolas, who also didn't like him too much. Although, who knows, maybe it'll change someday.

Together we went to the meeting point and sat down in the designated places. I sat down next to Legolas, Kili next to me, and Gimli next to him. We all sat in a semicircle, and at the very beginning was Lord Elrond with companions on either side.
