Chapter 14

* MALIA *

Another day came and I felt so much better. The wound on my stomach was practically gone, thanks to Legolas.

When I woke up Kli was gone so I got up and went looking for him. However, it was he who found me sooner than I found him.

"Lia! " He called and ran to me. "Come, you won't believe it." He said with a smile then took my hand and led me behind him.

We ran through several chambers and only stopped when we saw Legolas saying hello to...

"Aragorn! " I called cheerfully.

Man smiled when he saw me and took a step towards me. I glanced at Kili and smiled as he reciprocated, then I ran towards Aragorn and threw myself on his neck.

Brunet hugged me back.

"I knew you were alive. " I said glad with a smile.

"Glad you came back. " Kili came up to us and, like me, hugged Aragorn.

He looked terrible. He was dirty and you can see very tired, but most importantly, he was alive.

He asked how I felt when Legolas told him what happened. I replied that I was fine, which was of course true.

Later he said he needed to see the king as soon as possible, so we took him to him.

"A great host, you say? " Theoden asked as Aragon told him everything.

He said that an entire army of orcs was approaching Helm's Deep, and that we didn't have much time to prepare for battle.

"How many? " King asked.

"Ten thousand strong at least. " He said and Kili and I exchanged glances.

"It's an army bred for a single purpose..." Human said. "To destroy the world of men."

"How much time do we have? " Kili interjected.

"Not enough. " Aragorn replied. "They'll be here by nightfall. " He added and I froze.

King ordered that every man capable of bearing a weapon be ready before dark. And when he said, everyone also meant the youngest and the oldest. Teenagers, who didn't even know what war was, were about to find out what it meant. Those who were unable to fight were forgiven, but not everyone.

King said to cover the dikes and the gate from above. He also said that everything could be rebuilt later, but unfortunately you cannot return the lives to the fallen, and it was known that there would be many of them. Women, children and the unfit to Wight, were taken to the caves where they supposed to be safe.

Aragorn tried to persuade king to summon reinforcements, but he was too stubborn. He didn't believe that anyone could come to help. Even his nephew Eomer. Theoden said he was too far to help us. He was complaining even more about Gondor. He said they didn't help before, so they won't do it now.

His behavior really pissed me off, but I couldn't do much.

We were in for a war and we couldn't help it.

"Hi. " I replied and gave him a slight smile. "You're ready? "

"Yeah..." He stood next to me. "But I'd like to talk to you. Although I know you won't like it at all. "

Surprised, I turned to face him.

"What do you mean? " I asked, and when I saw his face, I immediately guessed what was going on. "No. " I said right away. "No way. "

"No "but"." I entered his words. "Whether you like it or not, I'll fight anyway. "

"Lia, listen..." He took my hand.

"No! " I cut him off and take my hand away from his. "It's you, listen..." I looked at him. "I'll not hide when other people close to me will fight for freedom and... And for us. " I softened my voice. "I'm not like that, and you know it. "

"Kili. " I entered his words again. "I'm fine, I can handle it. " I walked over to him.

I stopped the kiss and looked at our hands in surprise.

"No..." I said and looked at my husband again. "Don't do this. "

"You give me no choice. " He replied and then passed me and headed towards the exit.

"Kili! " I screamed after him. Brunet chained me and chained me to a metal pole, although I didn't even know where this pole came from. "I beg you! " I shouted, but he didn't react.
