We had been walking through this dark forest for a good few minutes. Gimli found the blood of orcs, but Merry and Pippin weren't found. We followed Aragorn, who read the way through the tracks. I hoped our friends were still alive.

"Do you know anything about this forest?" I asked Legolas.

"This forest is old..." He said thoughtfully. "Very old... Full of memory... And anger". Elf wanted to say something else, but suddenly we heard a strange sound. "The trees are speaking to each other. " Said.

"Gimli! " Aragorn turned to dwarf. "Lower your ax."

"They have feelings, my friend. "Legolas said. "The elves began it. Waking up the trees, teaching them to speak. "

"You're a walking encyclopedia." Kili laughed.

"Well, you know, I'm a little older than you. " Blond man smiled.

"Yes, a little... " I interjected. "Yes, about a hundred years maybe." I laughed, and the others joined me.

After a while, elf silenced us and said that there was something there.

We followed him and pulled out our weapons.

"What do you see? " Aragorn whispered.

"The White Wizard approaches. " Elf said.

Legolas and Kili prepared the bow and arrows, Aragorn and I prepared the swords, and Gimli prepared his axe. We had to act quickly. There're no jokes with wizards.

When Legolas let us know, we turned behind us and attacked. Boys shot him with bows, but he quickly deflected every arrow. He made Aragorn's sword, like Gimli's axe, so hot that it was unsustainable. So I stayed and attacked, but suddenly my sword just flew out of my hand.

We were now standing quite defenseless before the White Wizard. We couldn't see his face because he was surrounded by a white glow that was hard to look at.

"You're tracking the footsteps of two young hobbits."

"Where are they? " Aragorn asked.

"They passed this way the day before yesterday. " Old man said. "They met someone they didn't expect. Does that comfort you? "

"He asked you a question. " I interjected. "Where are they?! "

"There, where I sent them." He replied indifferently.

"Who are you? " Kili asked, confused. "Show yourself! "

In response, the white glow weakens. Before us there was now a person who I wouldn't have expected here in my life. I shook my eyes as well as the others.

"Gandalf...? " I said with surprise.

"It cannot be... " Aragorn added.

"Forgive me..." Legolas interjected. "I mistook you for Saruman. " Added and knelt before him, just like us.

"I'm Saruman. " Gandalf replied calmly. "Or rather, Saruman as he should've been. "

We got back on our feet. I couldn't believe it. We saw him fell. I didn't know how it was possible, but I was glad with all my heart, that Gandalf was still alive. He stood before us whole and healthy. He was wearing a long white robe and was holding a white stick in his hand. His hair and beard were no longer gray but as white as snow.

"You fell." Aragorn said with surprise.

"Through fire... And water. " Wizard replied. "From the lowest dungeon to the highest peak I fought with the Balrog of Morgoth. Until at last I threw down my enemy and smote his ruin upon the mountainside. Darkness took me... And I stayed out of thought and time. Stars wheeled overhead and every day was as long as life age of the Earth. But it wasn't the end. I felt life in me again. I've been set back until my task is done. "
