* KILI *
Another day passed and Malia was still unconscious. Legolas decided today to undertake the extraction of a sword shard. However, he didn't order any of us to enter the room in which Malia lay until it was all over.
I was sitting now with Gimli, Éowyn and king Theoden in front of the door to my wife's chamber. We've been waiting there for a good few hours. Eventually I couldn't stand it anymore and started pacing back and forth. It seemed to be endless.
Not only we've lost Aragorn, now, we can also lose Malia. We couldn't let that happen.
"She's strong. " King said suddenly. "Don't worry, she'll come out of this. "
"How am I not to worry? " I looked at Theoden. "This is my wife. I've always worried about her and always will be. Even though I know how strong she is. " I sighed.
"King's right, lad. " Gimli interjected. "Who if who, but our Malia can handle everything. She always could..." His voice broke. "I remember once you and your brother 'accidentally'... " Destroyed my cart... Ax, hanger, helmet and... "
"There was a lot of it. " I confirmed.
"Yes. " Gimli smiled. "Many of these and other things couldn't be fixed by anyone. Nobody but Malia. She could make miracles out of a few small things, fix everything. She never refused to help anyone, she always walked around smiling. This is our ray... Our sunshine. " Said, and a smile appeared on each of us. "Our beloved ray, who supported us at all times and always kept us together... Ooooh, let Your Majesty know what a kiddo he was like! " Gimli laughed and I only nodded. "Kili and his brother, Fili, they didn't listen to anyone. " Dwarf laughed. "Until Thorin received Malia under his charge. Then both, and especially Kili, changed completely.
"I don't deny it. " I said. "Lia, she became ... How to say it... My "anchor". She brought me down to earth when I had my various fights. She has always been with me... " I said and I felt a single tear run down my cheek. "I don't know what I'll do if I lose her... "
There was a momentary silence. Legolas still gave no sign of what was happening, and with each passing moment I was starting to lose hope. The last time I saw her, she was even more weakened than the last time. Her life was barely hanging on.
I got up and went outside.
"Kili! " I heard Gimli's voice behind me, but I didn't react.
I went over the wall. I walked a bit, then fell to my knees and started screaming. I finally let my emotions explode.
"Mahal, what's she guilty of?!" I screamed. "By Durin, if you want to punish someone, punish me!! " Tears were running down my cheeks, I didn't hide them at the moment. Nobody saw me so I could allow myself a moment of weakness.
"I can't lose her..." I said to myself. "Not her... "
I sat there for a few moments until suddenly I felt someone put a hand on my shoulder. I turned that way and froze.
"L-Lia...?" I asked incredulously.
Girl smiled, touched my cheek and then disappeared in the wind.
"No..." I whispered scared. "No, no, no..." I got to my feet and ran to my wife.
The worst thoughts were all in my head.
After a few moments, I reached the door of my wife's chamber. Legolas was already standing outside talking to Gimli, and when he saw me, he immediately came up to me.
I could see that he was sad, as if he wanted to give me the worst news in the world.
"No..." I shook my head and felt more tears trickling down.
