We've been walking for a few hours. We changed with those who weren't yet riding, with those who were riding. I was now walking beside Éowyn, who was leading the horse Gimli was sitting on.

"It's true, you don't see many dwarf women..." Dwarf said. "And in fact, they're so alike in voice and appearance that they're of ten mistaken for dwar men. "

"It's the beards. " Aragorn whispered at which we laughed.

"I'm not." I smiled.

"Right, right. " Gimli backed me up. "Malia is our treasure. A ray of sunshine on the darkest days. "

"Aww..." I looked at Gimli with a smile. "Thank you. "

"I'm only telling the truth. " Dwarf laughed. "Kili, my dear lad, you're lucky. "

"I know. " Brunet replied with a smile.

Gimli laughed and suddenly lost control of the horse, which ran forward, and dwarf fell a moment later to the ground. We ran up with Éowyn and helped him up.

"It's all right. Nobody panic. That was deliberate. It was deliberate." Gimli said what we were just laughing at.

Only after some time we had a short rest, and after a few minutes we moved on. Looking at Aragorn, I could see that he was missing and worried about his beloved, Arwen.

From what he told me recently, she was going to sail to the immortal lands with the rest of the elves, but I wasn't sure she would. She loved him with all her heart as much as I loved Kili. If I were in her place now, I would never leave my beloved. And I was pretty sure she would do the same. Even despite the urging of her father, Elrond.

Suddenly we heard sounds of fighting. Aragorn ran to see what was going on, and when he came back he said it was a scout.

Without waiting any longer, king ordered Éowyn to lead the people to Helm's Deep, and we had to fight off the attack of orcs and the wargs.

"Lia! " I heard Kili's voice behind me. He was sitting on a horse and he reached his hand to me, to join him, and so I did.

After people went their way, we followed king. We grabbed swords in our hands and the fight began.

There were many wars and orcs. At first my husband and I were able to fight on horseback, but then we jumped off the horse and continued the fight. Hit after hit and dodge after dodging.

I saw Gimli in the distance. He was crushed by the body of one of the wargs and in addition orc was walking towards him with the sword. Without wasting a moment, I went to help him. I blocked the first blow, and then each subsequent one, and after a while, the attacker was dead. I helped dwarf stand up, and suddenly I felt something grab my neck and throw me back. I fell on the ground groaning.

I quickly took my sword and deflected the first blow. Suddenly, two more creatures appeared behind me. So I swung at the one in front, then quickly turned back and cut one of the orcs' leg. I ducked before the attack of the secondo. Then kicked him in the stomach, and Kili and Legolas took care of him. Orc in front swung at me again, but I managed to jump to the side and cut his head with one quick move.

After a few longer moments, fight was over. Fortunately, the victory was ours.

I was looking for Kili, and when I saw him alive and well, I was immediately relieved.

"Where's Aragorn? " I asked, walking up to him and Legolas.

We started looking for him, but he was nowhere to be found. I hope he's okay... After all, who, if, but Aragorn can take care of himself.

Together with our elf, we followed the tracks that led us to one of the orcs. Bastard was still alive and laughing.

"Tell me what happened and I'll ease your passing! " Gimli said, and put ax to his throat.

"He's... Dead. " Creature moaned. "He took a little tumble of the cliff. "

"You lie!" Legolas shouted at him, but creature just laughed again and closed his eyes.

After a while blond elf took the pendant from his hand. It was to the Evening Star, Aragorn had gotten from Arwen.

"It cannot be..." I whispered and walked over to the cliff, and our elf and others were right behind me.

The water continued downstream, but there was no sign of Aragorn.

I took a few steps back. I didn't want to believe in Aragorn's death. It was impossible...

I turned back to the orc who had told us about it. Creature suddenly stood up and swung its sword at me. I didn't have time to react and suddenly I felt his sword thrust into my stomach. I groaned in pain as he pulled it out of me and smirked.

"Malia! " Gimli shouted and ran to kill this attacker.

I touched the wound and felt warm blood on my hand. I looked at it then turned to face my husband.

"K-Kili... " I whispered and fell, but brunet managed to catch me.

"No, no, no..." He said and brushed a lock of my hair away. "Look at me... Lia, look at me. " His voice trembled. "It'll be okay, hold on. "

I wanted to say something, but my voice failed me, and after a while I started to close my eyes.

"Don't fall asleep! " Kili begged. "Lia, don't fall asleep! Don't close your eyes! "

I didn't want to, but I couldn't take it anymore and after a while I closed my eyes and then it was only darkness.
