It was the last night of Christmas break when Grimmauld Place was visited by a surprise visitor.
"Snape?" Louis said. "What is he doing here?"
"And why does Dumbledore sent him here?" Lucy said. "Has he told him all about us?"
"Surely he has, otherwise he won't be sending Snape in here" Rose said.
Rose, Lucy, Louis and Dominique are all in the kitchen helping Molly with dinner while the rest of their cousin save Teddy and Victoire are in their room packing their things or finishing their home works for their return to Hogwarts the next day.
"Why don't you wait for Harry in the drawing room, Professor Snape?" they hear Molly said. It was she who opened the door.
"There is no need to fret Molly" Snape said "The Headmaster has told me all about your visitors. More so, I don't think Black's drawing room would be fit for visitors"
"How dare he!" said Dominique indignantly "We've slaved for hours cleaning that room"
"Very well, come to the kitchen then" they heard Molly said. A moment after Snape entered the room.
"What are you doing here Snape?" Sirius asked the moment Snape set foot in the kitchen.
"There is no need to act like a graceful host Black; I wouldn't want to set foot in this place if the Headmaster hasn't sent me" Snape said and continued upon seeing the kids from the future "Ah, these are the visitors from the future, I take it"
"Good evening Professor" Rose said.
Snape did not reply but took a seat.
"That's right, make yourself at home" Sirius said. Snape pretended not to hear him.
There was a clearing of throat in the kitchen door where Harry stood.
"Sit down Potter" Snape said.
"You know I think I'd prefer it if you didn't hand out orders here Snape" Sirius said leaning on his chair "You see I own this house"
"I'm supposed to see Potter alone Black, but we'll give you a consideration seeing as you always wanted to be involved" Snape said sneering.
"And what's that supposed to mean?" Sirius said loudly.
"Merely that I am sure you must feel ah—frustrated by the fact that you can do nothing useful" Snape laid a delicate stress on the word "for the Order"
Sirius flush and Snape's lip curled in triumph as he turns to Harry.
"The Headmaster has sent me to tell you that he wish for you to study Occlumency this term"
"The what?" Harry asked blankly.
Snape's sneer becomes more pronounced.
"Occlumency, Potter. The magical defense of the mind against external penetration. An obscure branch of magic; but a highly useful one."
Louis rolled his eyes behind Snape.
"Why do I have to study Occlu — thing?" Harry blurted out.
"Because the Headmaster thinks it a good idea," said Snape smoothly. "You will receive private lessons once a week, but you will not tell anybody what you are doing, least of all Dolores Umbridge. You understand?"
"Yes," said Harry. "Who's going to be teaching me?"
Snape raised an eyebrow.
"I am," he said.
