Chapter Forty

Chapter 40

Harry and Ginny rounded up the family after they have remembered their kids. Poor Lily had to dash out of the classroom when her locket glowed during charms class. She dragged Hugo as soon as class ended and looked for their cousins.

"Oh my poor baby" Older Astoria said. "How can we forget about you?"

"Mum! Really?" Scorpius said, blushing furiously.

"Oh my poor baby!" Albus whispered, imitating Astoria. James and Fred II laughed loudly.

"Shut it you!" Scorpius said, still blushing.

"Have you found out a new way to send us home Mum?" Molly II asked while her cousins are still laughing.

"We are trying to create a new time turner, one that can let people go back in years,  however we are nowhere near finishing it" Audrey answered sadly.

"So the time portal is still our last chance?" Dominique said.

"It won't be long now." Older Ginny said. "It's almost Easter so you don't have to wait a long time."

"But what if you forgot about us again? " Lily asked.

"We won't close this connection so we forget about you lot." Older Harry said.

"But I can't carry this glowing locket around" Lily said "I'd look silly"

"I'll carry it this time Lils" Molly II kindly.

"Thanks Molly" Lily said relieved.

"Meanwhile you lot should be careful" Older Hermione said "Voldemort's Death Eaters are out of Azkaban and they won't like it if they found out you are from the future"

"But we are inside Hogwarts" Louis said "they can't harm us while we're here, can they?"

"There's still Umbridge" Lucy countered.

"Just be careful" Fleur said

They talked a little bit more before saying goodbye to their parents.

"But how can we forget about you?" Astoria said as she and Scorpius walk to their Care of Magical Creatures class. It was the day after they contacted their parents from the future.

"It's okay. It's just the effect of our time travel" Scorpius said.

"But how will you be able to go back to your own time?" Astoria asked.

"Through the time portal" Scorpius said "According to Mrs. Weasley, Rose's mother, it's a rift between two time frames. Although to do that we have to cast the spell during the time that the alignment of the planets matches the two time frames" he explained upon seeing Astoria's blank look.

"It sounds so complicated. I don't think I followed you" Astoria said.

"It's okay" Scorpius said, chuckling "I don't get it either"

As they turn around a corner, they saw Draco Malfoy, who seemed surprise at seeing them. Scorpius readied himself for whatever taunting Draco will say, but the latter just stared at them.

"What do you want Malfoy?" Astoria said, icily.

This seemed to wake Draco. He shook his head and left them without saying anything.

"What was that?" Scorpius said looking at his mother.

To his surprise, Draco remained acting that way. He even stopped Crabbe from harassing them, one night.

"But shouldn't you be happy about it?" Rose said as they watched the rest of the DA members try to come up with a corporeal patronus. "I mean, at least you won't have to go head to head with your dad anymore"
