Chapter Thirty-Two

There was only one topic of conversations in the corridor now; the ten escaped Death Eaters, whose story has now filtered through the entire school from the few who have read about it in the newspaper. As the days passed, rumors flew around the castle that the convicts are spotted in Hogsmead, that they were supposed to be hiding in the Shrieking Shack and that they are planning on breaking into Hogwarts just like Sirius Black.

"Honestly, at the rate they're going, it is safe to say that the students in this time are not that smart" Louis said chuckling. "I mean, why go into Hogsmead when you know that the Ministry's after you."

"And why would they want to break into Hogwarts when Dumbledore's here? I mean, even Voldemort hasn't sought a duel with him. What can his cohorts do?" Roxanne supplied.

"Because, these students don't know the entire story yet. They bank on the Prophet to tell them what's happening outside Hogwarts and as the Prophet isn't telling them the truth, they have to resort to making speculations" Molly II said.

The next generation of Weasley's with Scorpius is in the Room of Requirement waiting for the rest of the DA members to arrive. Since the report of the breakout, everyone in the DA has been working hard in every meeting. Although, no improvement was more pronounced than that of Neville Longbottom who has been improving so fast, it's quite unnerving. Only last week, Harry taught them the Shield Charm-a spell that can deflect minor to moderate hexes-and only Hermione mastered the charm faster than Neville, of course with the exception of the kids from the future, who have been taught the charm by their parents.

"Poor Professor Longbottom" Lily said "Must be difficult for him, now that his parents' attackers are on the loose"

"I wish Dad would see through it though." Lucy said "Wouldn't he suspect anything wrong? Ten Death Eaters on the loose and no Dementors are looking for them when only two years ago they have a massive hunt for Sirius Black."

"I think that Dad is somehow thinking that something is wrong, only he doesn't want to admit it. Not just yet" Molly II said.

"What makes you say that?"Dominique asked.

"Well, you know, Dad loves to be important. I mean, he has been being scoffed at by wizards before because his family is poor." Molly II said.

"I know, I know" she added as her cousins made an angry noise "Yes the family's worth ten of the Malfoy's-sorry Scorp, but the thing is, the Weasley's right now are poor right? Gramps is being laughed at because of his fascination with the Muggles. He hasn't been given promotion in too long to remember. And however brilliant Dad is at school, people can't see that. They only regard him as one of the Weasley's, whose family is so poor they have to resort to hand me downs. "

"Being promoted is to him, a big success and his stepping stone to becoming one of the important names in the Wizarding World. By becoming close to the Minister himself, he will no longer be disregarded. And right now, he doesn't want to give up that importance yet. Because if he suddenly admits that he believes Uncle Harry, all of his achievements to date will go down the drain. I mean, look at what happened to Dumbledore. "

"And that sucks because what Dad is saying is the truth, only Fudge is being the power hungry moron that he is" Lily said angrily.

"And if only Fudge believed Dumbledore, they could have been more prepared to whatever's going to happen" Hugo added.

"Well, power is a terrible temptation" Rose said. "Gramps said, power can make a wolf out of a lamb."

"It's creepy how you can remember things" Scorpius commented.

"Because I listen, Scorp" Rose retorted.

"Cheer up guys" Fred II said. "It's Valentine's Day this weekend"

"Hogsmead visit!" Lucy said.

"Yey!" Lily and Hugo said gloomily.

"Don't worry, you're not missing out on anything" Albus said "Hogsmead in our time is a lot better"

"And besides you've been there many times" James said.

"Not without Mum and Dad though" Lily said "And you know how Dad is. "Lily, you can't go around wandering on your own" or 'Lily be careful', honestly, I think the things that happened around Dad makes him a bit of a paranoid."

"Only to you" James said while Albus snickered.

"Careful now, here they come" Dominique said looking at the door. Soon, the members arrived and their lesson for the night begun.

While the Hogwarts students speculate about the escaped ten prisoners, the Ministry is up on its elbows trying to round them up.

"Where do you reckon they might be?" Jeremy Kruger asked Teddy one day.

"Who?" Teddy asked.

"Them, Death Eaters" Jeremy said. "You reckon they're with Black right now?"

"Do you still think Black's behind all this?" Anthony Wright asked Jeremy.

"The Minister said so" Jeremy said. "Why? Think it's someone else's?"

"I've been having doubts since the report came" Anthony Wright said rubbing his chin. "Sure Black has escaped prison before, and it's rather amazing how he'd done it, I daresay, but don't you think you need to be a very powerful wizard to help ten high security prisoners breakout?"

"Well some says Black's a very powerful dark wizard. Says he's You-Know-Who's second in command" Jeremy said.

"But Black could not have warded those Dementors away, could he?" Anthony Wright said. "You have to have control over them for you to have let the prisoners out. Only one person could do that."

"You think You-Know-Who's really out there?" Jeremy asked.

"All the proof points that way" Anthony Wright said, shrugging. "How 'bout you Romulus?" he asked Teddy.

"I think You-Know-Who's back" Teddy said softly.

"Where do you reckon he is right now?" Anthony Wright asked.

Teddy just shrugged. Although, truth be told, he bet his wand Voldemort's at the Malfoy's right now.

"The sooner we find them, the better." Jeremy said. "Blimey, I haven't been an Auror for more than a year and I have to track down ten escaped convicts"

Anthony laughed but Teddy remained silent. He just realized that he never met either Jeremy or Anthony in his time. There was never a Kruger or a Wright in the list of the high ranking Aurors. Teddy realized something with a pang. Anthony and Jeremy will never make it out of the war.

"Romulus" Anthony snapped him out of his thoughts.

"Huh?" Teddy asked. "I'm sorry, I just remember I need to finish my report" Without waiting for their reply, he left them.
