Hugo and Lily made their way to the Gryffindor tower. Hugo, unable to look at his father's pathetic quidditch performance told Lily he would be going back to the dormitories. Lily went with him seeing as there's nobody who she can watch with. Besides she's feeling envious watching others fly in a broomstick.

"I miss my broomstick" Lily said "I'll bet my flying would be rusty when we go back"

"You won't" Hugo said still glumly.

"Lighten up Hugo" Lily said punching her cousin in the shoulder gently. "They won the cup this year so Uncle Ron maybe improved a lot!"

Hugo sighed "You watched him. At the rate he's going, I'll bet my wand Aunt Angie managed to get a hand on a vial of Felix Felicis and have Dad drank all of it"

Lily chuckled at that "I don't think Aunt Angie would resort to that" she said "C'mon, let's just go and hunt down Uncle Fred and Uncle George. They didn't go to Hogsmead. At least they're a laugh."

"How do you think Uncle George managed it?" Hugo wondered.

"Manage what?" Lily asked as they climb the portrait hole.

"You know, Uncle Fred dying?" Hugo said softly after they have settled in the chair near the fire.

"Mum said it was hard in the beginning" Lily said, her eyes filming. She brushed the tears in her eyes it and continued "I guess Uncle George just had some support" she added shrugging.

"I'd be devastated if it was me" Hugo said "I mean, Rose can be the meanest sister but I can't see myself living without her."

"Me too" Lily said softly.

Unknown to them, two people stood within earshot looking shocked.

George felt all the color left his face upon hearing Hugo. They were supposed to sneak up on Hugo and Lily but instead get the shock of their life.

"It can't be" was all George can hear in his mind. They were supposed to grow together and succeed in running the joke shop. No one was supposed to die ahead of the other.

Meanwhile, Fred felt his surrounding quake. He never really thought he'd be leaving George alone. They made a pact when they were young. They'd grow old and die together.

"Death is sure a fickle bastard" Fred thought. Unable to look at the shocked face of his twin, he left the common room.

George followed his brother as soon as he's sure his feet can move. He found him sitting at the tree near the lake where the two of them and Lee Jordan always hang out.

"So I'm dying huh" Fred said as soon as George sat down beside him.

"Shut it" George said.

"The news was from the future, brother" Fred said.

"We can change the time" George said looking at his twin.

Fred only stared back then smiled bitterly "We can't mess with the time. Besides, we don't even know how am I going to die."

George didn't speak but shift his gaze to the giant squid's tentacles emerging from the lake.

"I might choke from an overly large pie. Or I might hear Percy sing. There are many ways"

"Sure, if you want to die, go ahead" George said rather harshly. He could not see how his twin could take it in stride.

"I'm the one who's going to die" Fred reminded him.

"Yeah, and who'll be left? Me" George said angrily. "Don't worry I'll sing the funeral march for you"

Awkward silence followed. Something they never had before.
