"AMY!" the doctor screamed as loud as his vocal chords allowed.
he couldn't even focus on the words she said in return, because there was only one thought going through his mind.
'not again, not again,' his chest heaved as all his strength went into keeping amy up out of the earth. 'god please not again.'
"i've gotta get it upright!" she was reaching for the lever.
the doctor was terrified as she let go of the clamp on the wall and grabbed the lever.
she was already starting to slip.
"ROSE!" he reached for her. "HOLD ON!"
he hadn't been able to reach for her.
he wanted to so badly.
he'd have given anything to be able to grab her hand and fight it keep her the way he was fighting to keep amy's hand.
his body trembled as he couldn't help but think back to her.
he had only met amy because he had left rose.
as his grip on amy's hand loosened, and eventually she fell into the earth, the doctor stared after her in the darkness.
he only had one thought going through her head.
'amelia pond. i am so, so sorry.' the one he forced himself to think, but the real thought broke his hearts much more.
'not again, oh rose, not again.'
