April 8

"Did you see me? Did you see me jump?" Alexis said as Beyonce placed her back onto the boat. Shawn laughed and picked her up.

"Of course I saw you, you made sure to announce it to me every second before you went in that I need to pay attention." She smiled and looked down at the water where Beyonce was swimming around.

"I wanna go again." Whatever Alexis wanted on this vacation, Alexis got. Shawn placed her down and she jumped back in while splashing Beyonce lightly. As they relaxed in the water, Shawn laid out on the deck and read his magazine. This was their perfect vacation; it couldn't get better than this.

"Hey girls, don't forget we gotta go shopping soon." Shawn said turning the page. "I'm not taking you if you smell like fish."

Alexis and Beyonce quickly got out of the water and began to dry off. "Come on sweetie, let's go take a bath." Beyonce said taking her daughter by the hand. They went into the bathroom and she turned the warm water on.

"Can we have bubbles?" Alexis asked. Beyonce nodded her head and started to hum her favorite song. Alexis took off her swimming suit and got into the tub, soon being joined by her mother.

"We gotta get your hair done when we get back home." Beyonce said running her fingers through her daughter's hair. Luckily she got the good hair that was somewhere down the line in the Knowles family. "You gonna lean back on mommy?" Alexis nodded and leaned her body back into Beyonce who was sitting behind her.

"I like it here." Alexis said playing with the bubbles around them. Beyonce laughed and kissed her daughter's cheek.

"Of course you do, it's a vacation spot." Things remained silent for a while as Beyonce shampooed and conditioned her daughter's hair and admired the young lady that she was going to become soon. She knew it was almost time to stop treating Alexis like a baby and teach her how to become even more independent.

"Mommy, why do I have those special dreams that you and daddy have?" Alexis asked quietly. Beyonce wrapped her arms around her little body and kissed her cheek.

"Because you were meant to be special. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, you got it?" Alexis nodded and knew her mother was right. She was special, there was no doubt about that. She was the only child of the infamous Beyonce and Jay-Z; of course she had no idea who Jay-Z was. That man left a long time ago, right now the only man in her life was Shawn.

"I can't wait for my little brother to be born. I hope he's special like we are too." Alexis said with excitement. "Don't you?" When her daughter's eyes met her gaze, Beyonce was at a loss for words. Does she tell her daughter that she wishes none of her children got this strange dream thing, or does she lie and make her daughter happy?

"You know what baby; I just hope he's happy." Alexis nodded and went back to her bubbles as Beyonce sat back and thought of what life would be like with another child, this time a boy, and these dreams.

"Get your butt back over here." Beyonce said in a stern voice. Alexis walked over to her slowly and Beyonce got a tight grip on her arm. "What did I tell you earlier? Huh?"

"To not walk away." Alexis said with tears pouring out of her eyes. Shawn just stood back and watched his wife handle the lesson she was trying to teach their daughter.

"And what did you do?"

"Walked away." At this point, her voice was barely audible from the lack of breath she was experiencing. "I'm sorry." Beyonce shook her head and dragged Alexis along with her as Shawn slowly walked behind them.

"I'm not gonna tell you again. Now stay by my side until we're finished, you got that?" She said looking down. Alexis nodded and tried her best to keep up with her mother's fast and big steps.

"Beyonce, baby slow down. She can't go that fast." Shawn said noticing his daughter struggle. She was crying, walking fast, and trying to breathe at the same time. Not a good combination. "Beyonce! Stop!" She finally stopped and turned around.

"What?"

"I'll take her." Shawn bent down and picked Alexis up in his arms. He could see her struggling to catch her breath. "We'll catch up to you in the next store." Beyonce nodded and walked away as Shawn sat down on a bench with his daughter. "You okay?" He asked wiping her tears.

"I'm hot." She said laying her head on his shoulder. He stroked her back slowly and dug in his pocket.

"Let's go get you some water."

They went to the closest convenient store and he bought a bottle of water. She drank it all in a matter of minutes and her normal breathing was once again back.

"I'm better now." She said wiping her forehead. He laughed and threw the bottle away.

"I'm sure you are, so you ready to continue shopping?" She nodded and they went to catch up to Beyonce. Knowing her, she already had about five bags for Shawn to carry, so Alexis was going to be on her own when they arrived. "There she is." Shawn said spotting Beyonce in one of the boutiques.

"Let's go in." Alexis said as Shawn tried his best to protest. She finally got him up to Beyonce and he groaned when he saw her pull out his favorite credit card. The one he kept around for his own spendings. She got it two days ago out of his wallet while he was still sleeping.

"Come on, let's go pay for this." Beyonce said taking Alexis by the hand. This time, she wasn't walking fast. She let her daughter pick the pace that she would be able to handle.

"At least she ain't mad anymore." Shawn said once he saw the interaction between the two. That's all he wanted, a peaceful vacation, and that's what he was getting. Even though Beyonce was mad, she got over it quickly, and he knew it was because of the calm and stress free atmosphere they were surrounded by. No cameras, no tabloids, no pushy people.

It was their dream lifestyle.
