February 26

Beyonce walked down the hall and peaked into her daughter's room. She knew there was something wrong if Alexis was quiet. "Babygirl, why you sitting there doing nothing?" Beyonce asked walking inside. Alexis looked over at her and wiped her eyes.

"I miss daddy." A smile crept upon Beyonce's face as she picked Alexis up. Today she was missing him, tomorrow she won't even notice his absence, and the day after she won't even care. It wasn't the first time this has happened, and it certainly won't be the last. She has slowly been learning that she can't have her parents at home all the time, but the first day is still the hardest.

Beyonce knew better than to try and get her mind off of it; that wasn't the way Alexis functioned. Unlike most children her age, she wasn't easily amused and distraction didn't work too well. "What if we go to a basketball game? Will that make you feel like he was still here?" Alexis slowly nodded and wiped her eyes. "Alright then, we have two hours to get ready so I think we should start now. You want a shower or a bath?"

"Bath." They walked into the bathroom and Alexis took her time undressing while Beyonce gathered everything both of them would need once they were done. She placed their clothes on the side and their towels right next to the tub. "Come on mommy." Beyonce placed her into the tub and then got in herself. "Does daddy miss me?"

"Of course he does." She slowly lathered shampoo onto Alexis's hair making sure none dripped down to her eyes. "And you know what else?" Alexis looked up and Beyonce smiled. "He even told me he would miss you the most."

"He told me too." This was what most of their mother-daughter moments consisted of. Neither one of them were into being extravagant all the time and loved being homebody's. "I'm wrinkly." Alexis said holding up her hand. Beyonce looked at her fingers and nodded.

"I guess we're done here, come on." After getting dressed and completing their looks, the girls got into the car and were driven over to the arena. They walked inside with security enclosing them into a little circle and went all the way to the court like that. "Can we please have two bottles of water and some popcorn?" Beyonce said looking at the man assigned to take care of them for the night. He walked away and Beyonce took a seat with Alexis firmly placed on her lap.

"Look!" Beyonce followed her finger and spotted some friends down the row. She politely smiled and gave them a little wave. Games weren't her favorite thing to pass time with, but she was thankful that she wasn't stuck alone with Shawn anymore. Before Alexis came along, it would always be 'Beyonce did you see that? Wasn't it amazing?' Now it's 'Alexis look!' Just like her father, Alexis took to the game right away. She loved coming and loved it even more when the players, coaches, and people around got her involved. "We gonna win." Alexis said proudly.

"If you say so." Truthfully, Beyonce didn't want the Nets to win. It was a game between the Brooklyn Nets and the Houston Rockets, no matter what state she was living in at the moment; Houston is always her first love. The food and drinks arrived and the game began, starting a feud between mother and daughter.

Halftime was the moment Beyonce was waiting for. She could get up, stretch her legs, and most importantly, she can get a break from Alexis. The constant bouncing on Beyonce's lap during the game always became painful by the end of the night, another reason why Beyonce disliked the games. "I gotta peepee."

The two walked out followed by their security team once again. "Come on." Beyonce opened the private door and walked inside with her.

"Mommy!" Kelly looked over at Beyonce and shook her head.

The look on her 'sisters' face was enough to tell her that help was needed. "I'll get her." She knew first hand how hard it was to be alone and care for someone that needed attention 24/7, not because she had her own children to worry about, but because she had Beyonce to worry about for most of her life. "She's resting, can I help?"

Alexis nodded and held out her arms. Kelly lifted her up and looked around the room. "I broke it." Alexis said pointing to her Barbie doll. "Oops." A slight giggle escaped from her.

"Alright, no biggie, we can fix it." Fix it? That was confusing to Alexis because she never heard those words when it came to her broken toys. She heard 'we can get a new one,' but never 'we can fix it.' That wasn't the way to do things around here.

"I want a new one." Alexis stated. Kelly shook her head, unable to understand where this child got that crazy idea. She picked up the Barbie and put the arm back on.

"Good as new." Placing both on the floor, Kelly walked out of the room, not giving Alexis any time to whine about not getting a new toy. She knew the child was spoiled most of the time, but anything she can do to prevent it from going overboard, she did. "Your child is out of her mind." Kelly said passing by Beyonce.

It was usually like this when Kelly or Michelle came around when Shawn wasn't home. Beyonce would spend most of her time sleeping while they cared for Alexis. One thing the girls refused to do though was raise Alexis. They knew when enough was enough, and so did Beyonce.
