February 23

Completely unaware of her mother standing behind her, Alexis slowly peaked around the corner to make sure no one was on her tail. She smiled and reached into the bag of cookies, but before she could taste the sweet chocolate chips on her tongue, a carrot was inserted into her hand.

"Aw! Mommy!" Beyonce shrugged and took all the cookies from her daughter.

"Sorry sweetie, but you know better." Alexis folded her arms and bit into the carrot with all her strength.

"I'm not happy." She stated before walking away. Beyonce laughed and walked back into the kitchen with the bag of sweets. She placed them on top of the fridge to keep away from Alexis and then went to join her and Shawn in the living room. "Mommy, he did it again." Alexis said leaning back on the couch. Shawn winked at Beyonce and looked back at Alexis.

"You're not supposed to tell on a person, that's not good." He said shaking his head. Alexis shrugged her shoulders.

"So?"

"See, I knew you were going to say that." She grabbed the carrot that was sticking out half way out of her mouth and threw it at his head. "And I knew you were going to do that." He said laughing.

"Stop!" She yelled while he pulled her towards him and started tickling her stomach. "Mommy! Tell him to stop!" Alexis said as she reached for her mother. Beyonce fought the urge to go in and save her daughter; she knew they would both be in trouble if Shawn captured her too.

"You shouldn't have thrown the carrot." Beyonce said shaking her head. "You know he's magic, he knows exactly what you're going to say and do most of the time." It was still too early in their daughter's life for Shawn and Beyonce to explain their past dreams. Not only would she be confused, it might install some fear in her as well.

"I'm sorry!" Alexis screamed, burying her face in his chest. Shawn let out one final laugh and let his daughter go. "Daddy, you killed me." She said exhausted from the panic attack.

"I see that." He placed his hand on top of her stomach as it went up and down with her quick breaths. "I can solve your problem, remember, I'm magic." He stated. She smiled at him and sat up.

"Okay." He winked at her and then looked up at Beyonce.

"I need my assistant to help me." Alexis kept an eye on her parents as they walked over to the side and mumbled something, looking back at her with a puzzling look. "Okay, I think you're ready to see my trick." By this time her breathing was back to normal, but she was too focused on her parents to realize. "On the count of three, I want you to say 'Shazam,' got it?"

"One." Beyonce started. "Two." Alexis smiled at her mother as Beyonce smiled back. "Three!"

"Shazam!" The whole room got quiet as Alexis looked down at her stomach. "Wow, look! It worked!" She said in disbelief. Shawn picked her up and placed her on his shoulders.

"What did I say?"

"You're magic." Alexis answered as she made a beat drum on his head. "I always knew you were telling the truth." He looked up at her and nodded.

"Guess what?"

"What?"

"I knew you knew I was telling the truth too." She let out a giggle from the sentence he formed as Beyonce walked past them, shaking her head along the way. "Where are you going?" Shawn asked before she disappeared around the corner.

"To see my other man." She responded while rolling her eyes. Not being one to back away from any challenge she throws at him, Shawn gladly took the opportunity to get her upset.
