An assortment of growl's and roars were head from inside the jungle putting all three on edge. Now the the immediate danger was out of the way the hidden one became all that more fearful.

"I think its best we find shelter," Jacob suggested. They walked through the jungle finding a large shell to camp in. Lillianna used one of her pins that had manged to hold onto her hair in the wave to pull half of it back out of her face. Ringing out her dress she huffed tiredly sliding down the side of the shell to plop onto the ground. Jacob who had gone to get the supplies from the boat returned pulling out two coconuts and chucking them to the girls.

"Get your strength. We're leaving in the morning," he said resting the coconut of a rock and using his knife to split it. Maisie seemed to be having an inner conflict with herself. The beast wasn't like what she red in her books. It didn't eat her in one bight. It saved them and seemed inquisitive.

"Me book says the beasts used to come right up to shore. That nowhere was safe. Is that true?" she asked trying to break the coconut just like Jacob had only for it to slip to the side.

"Of course it's true," he said standing and splitting the coconut for her. Without asking he took Lillianna's and did the same.

"You saw it?" Maisie asked.

"It was before my time, but everyone knows it's true," he said walking back to his spot.

"What if them things ain't as bad as they say? I mean, the sea is their home. We went after her, didn't we? What if we just left 'em alone?" Maisie asked. Lillianna paused her eating to look at her. She had some good points. Lillianna had been taught the history of there kingdom more times then she could count. The dark times were referred to as just a time. A story really.

"We kill them because they kill us. Do I need to remind you that one of them things took your parents? Should they have just left the monsters alone?" Jacob asked clearly growing frustrated. he knew one thing and one thing only. That sea beasts were terrible things, after all that's why he was hunting them.

"I... don't know," she muttered.

"Oh, you are lost, girl," he snapped slightly.

"Hey, clam down. She's got some good points," Lillianna was quick to jump to Maisie's defence. She herself had often been belittled, talked down to like she didn't know anything. It wasn't a pleasant feeling.

"What would you know princess?" he asked crossing his arms. Lillianna narrowed her eyes but stayed silent. He was right.

"Your parents died heroes," he argued turning back to Maisie.

"I want to believe that, but maybe you can be a hero and still be wrong," she said.

"You're not making..." Jacob snapped only to go quit at the sound of a beast.

"You're not making any sense," he whispered.

"Why did Red swallow us?" Maisie argued back.

"Oh, "Red," is it?" Jacob asked putting his hand on his hips bewildered by the idea that the little girl in front of him gave a name to the giant scary beast.

"She, not it. I think it's a she, and I think she was protecting us from Crow," Masie explained.

"You're giving that beast way too much credit," Jacob said.

"He was pointing a gun at you, and he..." Maisie argued.

"He was pointing it at you, through me. Because you cut them lines. I don't wanna argue about it, all right? 'Cause I don't want to attract any of the multitude of monsters on this island, that, that I wouldn't be on if you hadn't cut them lines!" he said throwing his arms about at the end of his rant.

"So we're not arguing? So what are we doing?" Maisie asked calmly.

"I'm going to gather supplies. I'll take you to Guelston," he said before turning to Lillianna. "I'll take you back to the palace and when I get back to the ship, we'll finish what we started," he said simply before walking out spear in hand.

"Don't... get killed out there,"  Maisie whispered.

"I won't make any promises," he shrugged.

"Jacob. Promise," Maisie pressed.

"All right. I promise," he said.

It had been awhile since Jacob had set out, Maisie had rolled of to sleep. So Lillianna decided she would go out and look for the hunter. After all  he was there best chance at getting back.

Jacob who had come across a certain predicament stood stationary waist deep in mud his eyes darting around at any sound. Hearing the sound of branches rustling he turned to his left to see a mop of red hair. The two stared at each other for a moment Lillianna taking in his situation before a smug grin of her own appeared on her face.

"You just gonna stand there or are ya gonna help?" he asked.

"I'm just a prissy naive princess who cant even wipe her own ass, How would i be able to help you?" Lillianna asked batting her eyes innocently. Jacob sighed dropping his head slightly.

"How did you even find me?" he asked.

"I followed your tracks. Just another thing I wouldn't know right?" Lillianna asked spirtfully.

"Listen I need to get out. If your not gonna help leave," he said fighting against the mud yet he didn't budge and inch.

"I can help you. But it comes with a price," Lillianna said crossing her arms and leaning against the tree with an amused smile.

"I don't need you help," he said defiantly.

"aha, sure. well ill just wait here and watch how you expertly get out of this situation," she said hooking her skirt under her and sitting on a log. Jacob struggled for a little longer before letting out a deep sigh.

"What's the price?" he asked.

"I want you to apologise," Lillianna said simply.
