Lillianna had gone through wedding preparations before. Yet this time, this time it was different. She wouldn't be walking into an arranged marriage. She would be walking to the man she loved.
Everyone had gathered on the beach, Jacob had dressed up in a fine blue suit. His hair combed and cleanly shaven.
The crew a a few others stood waiting pacientiently.
"How do I look?" Jacob nervously asked Maisie who herself sported a light blue dress the front of it embroidered with silver swirls blue flowers tucked into her hair.
"Like husband material," Maisie said with a happy smile.
The music started, a soft song from the violin. Lilliann appeared on the beach. She didn't wear an extravagant dress. No the one she wore was simple. No frills or extra fabric. It was a white off colour the hems embroidered with soft blue flowers. She wore no expensive jewellery. Her wild hair lay out half pulled back and tucked with little blue flowers. Over her head lay a simple veil. And in her hands sat a small bouquet of blue and white flowers.
"Are you sure about this?" Lia asked as she walked her down the aisle. Lillianna found Jacobs eyes and she knew her answer.
"With all my heart," she whispered. Jacob felt his breath stolen away as he laid eyes on her. He looked at her as if she was the most beautiful thing on earth, and to him she was. Only when she was by his side grasping hold of his hand was he able to breath. Lillianna smiled squeezing his hand slightly as he rubbed his thumb against it.
"You hurt her and I'll kill you," The general said simply earning a few laughs.
"Thankyou Lia," Lillianna nodded trying to hold back her tears. Jacob reached forward gently lifting the veil before pulling it back.
"Wow," was all he could muster.
"Not to bad yourself" Lillianna said.
"Today we gather here to witness something amazing. Somehow by some huge amount of luck this sorry sod managed to bag a princess," Sarah was the officiant. Mainly due to the fact that the captain of a ship had the power to marry someone, and when it was the captain getting married that power passed to the first mate. Everyone laughed at her words.
"But in all seriousness," Sarah cleared her throat.
"I personally never knew what love was. I knew it came in many forms. Yet when I saw these two before me I knew that that is love. And by the powers they have a lot of it," Sarah's words faded away as the two looked at each other. Lillianna could hardly believe it, it seemed like a dream. yet jacobs hand in hers, his eyes told her it wasn't.
"Lillianna, do you take this man to be your husband. To love, to stay side by side on calm seas and ruff. Do you vow to face whatever storm faces you together as husband and wife?" Sarah asked.
"I do," she said.
"And do you Jacob take this woman to be your wife. To love, to stay side by side on calm seas and ruff. Do you vow to face whatever storm faces you together as husband and wife?" Sarah asked.
"I do," he said.
"The rings please," Sarah said. Maisie walked up with tears in her eyes holding out the two rings. Taking them they put them on each others fingers. Sarah pulled out a rope and tied it around there hands that held there rings.
"With this rope I bind two souls to become one. May you share in each others burdens and joys from this day until your last. With this I pronounce you husband and wife! You may now kiss!" Sarah declared. Everyone cheered as they kissed, a sweet loving kiss. Taking Lillianna by the waist he dipped her earing even louder cheers. Setting her back on her feet the two laughed.
"Thank You," Jacob whispered tears gathering in his eyes.
"Don't cry. If you cry I'll cry," Lillianna said reaching up to wipe away the stray tear that fell just like he had done all that time ago. Taking her hand he kissed her plam before holding it close to his chest.
"I love you," Lillianna said.
"I love you more," he said back as they shared another kiss. A clap of thunder was heard before it started pouring. Lillianna laughed looking up at the rain.
"Throw the bouquet," someone called from the crowd. Lillianna smiled turning and chucking the flowers over her head. The water swirling off it as it flew threw the air. Two people reached out for it. One being Lia the other being Uzima, a crew member that alway wore a colourful covering over her hair. They had both caught it. The two chuckled with slight blushes before Lia let go clearing her throat.
Everyone rushed back for the tavern yet when Lillianna tried to she was pulled back by Jacob.
"I love you, I love you so much there no words for it!" Jacob yelled over the wind.
"I might not have the words that can describe my love. But I've got some that come pretty close!" Lillianna called back.
"Oh yeah? What's that?" he asked.
"You are my great life," Lillianna called. Jacob chuckled before bellowing out into a full blown laugh. His joy bubbling fourth into it. Picking Lillianna up he spun her around in the rain and the sand before setting her down and slamming his lips onto hers.
So there they stood, soaked in rain there shoes filled with sand the waves crashing against their legs.
In the history of kisses there were five that had been rated the most passionate, the most pure, the most utterly joy filled. Those kisses were nothing in comparison to the one on that shore.
