Lillianna burst to the surface trying to ignore the felling of the long open gash on her forearm. The ship had been moving fast so when she surfaced it had already passed her.

"Mum!" Maisie yelled in worry.

"Lillianna!" Jacob yelled as he chucked a spear through the air. The spear hit the water beside her the rope slapping down deside it. Wrapping it around her good arm she held tight as the crew started to heave the rope in. She was pulled through the waves her arm leaving a trail of red in her wake.

"Send out decoy shots, get them flares with em!" Jacob yelled as he jumped over the side of the boat landing on the platforms. He and two other sailors pulled Lillianna from the sea as they canon's sounded. They sent out capsuals that exploded with black ink giving off the illusion of other ships, the flares following going of just above them. It didn't work.

The beast roes its eyes glaring at the little group. The beast was angry but it was slightly confused. The ship hadn't attacked it.  Jacob reached for his sword only for Lillianna to stop him. The beast focused on this action before huffing the wet waff of wind washing over them before it sunk back into the sea.

After everything had settle Lillianna sat in the doc's office getting her arm stitched up. Jacob stood by her a worried look on his face.

"Im fine love," Lilianna mused only to grimace when the doc pulled a stich closed.

"Oh yeah I can see that," he said sarcastically.

"Why do you think he attacked the ship?" Maisie asked from her seat in front of Lillianna.

"We had gone after it before. Ages back. It got away," Jacob explained.

"So he had a bone to pick with you?" Lillianna asked.

"You could say that," he answered.

"Alright all done," the doc said tieing off the bandage.

"Bed rest?" Jacob asked.

"Yes for a day or two. You lost a bit of blood," the doc nodded.

"I feel fine," Lillianna words were ignored by Jacob as he stepped up to her picking her up in his arms.

"I can walk fine," Lillianna chuckled slightly.

"And deprive me the excuse of carrying you? Never," he said. Maisie smiled at her parents. they were just as in love when they fell even after two years of marriage.

Jacob gently set Lillianna in there bed.

"Now you stay there, Captains orders," he said earing a challenging smirk from her.

"I mean it," he added leaning forward to give her a soft deep kiss.

"Sure thing captain someday," she said tipping his hat down.

When they got back to home Lillianna was basically healed up. Deciding to have a few drinks in the tavern the villagers welcomed them with open arms. They still respected the hunters even though the times had changed.

Lillianna walked up to the bar flagging down the bar tender and sliding a coin over to him.

"Well hello beautiful," Lillianna frowned glancing to the side to see a man, an attritive man flashing her a seductive smile.

"The names Lillianna, not beautiful," she said hoping the man caught onto her dismissive tone.

"I disagree, you are very much beautiful," he said moving slightly closer.

"Even if I am. Im married," she said holding up her hand that held the ring.

"And? I don't mind sneaking around," he proposed. Lilliana huffed a chuckle.

"Listen mate, while I may be flattered I'm not interested. I'm happily married and I have a kid," she said taking the two drink and turning to walk past him only for his hand to snap out grabbing her arm. Lillianna polite smile fell as she looked down at his grip.

"Come on now. Don't be a prude. Let's have a bit of fun. Im sure you husband wont find out," he suggested leaning closer. This time Lillianna laughed.

"What's so funny?" he asked.

"Its funny cause he's standing right behind you," Lillianna said simply. The man turned around expecting someone at his height only to have to crane his neck up at Jacob who looked pissed. Jacob who had been watching from the other side of the tavern immediately stood as soon as the man put a hand on her.

"Id thank ye kindly to take your hands off my wife," he warned lowly. The man let out a nervous chuckle as he let Lillianna go. Jacob gently pulled Lillianna into his side by the waist looking down at the man with disgust before leading her away.

"You alright love?" he asked all the menacin gone from his expression as he looked down at her.

"Right as rain, my knight in shinning armour," she said holding one of the mugs out to him. Smiling he leaned down kissing her cheek and taking the drink.

That night when the crew parted ways for a bit they all said there goodbys agreeing to meet up at the start of spring for the next supply run. Lillianna and Maisie were packing there wagon and Jacob was still in the tavern just organizing a last few arrangements with Sarah.

As he got up to leave a certain drunk villager caught his attention.

"The bitch wanted me, I mean it's just because of that so called husband of hers. If not for him i would have had her bent over a desk screaming bloody mary!" the drunken laughed of the men died out as they saw Jacobs approaching figure. The one who had spoke was the one who harassed lillianna. Frowning he turned to see what his friends were so scared off. Instead he was meet by one hand gripping his shirt the other slamming into his nose the satisfying crack filling the room. This made some of the other villager chuckle. Afterall nobody messed with the captain's wife.

"See you in a few months captain," Sarah remarked as they parted ways outside of the tavern.

"See ya sharp," Jacob called back.

"What took you so long?" Lillianna asked as Jacob pulled himself up onto the carriage grabbing the reigns.

"Ran into an old friend," Jacob shrugged nonchalantly. Lillianna hummed in disbelief but left it having had watched the whole scene from the window.
