The crew was having a little party for the return of Jacob, and the doctor had joined after making sure maisie was stable. Afterall it wasn't everyday a hunter returned from the jaws of a beast.

"Where is your physician!" The cheerful mood died down quickly at one of the royal guards urgant yell.

"The princess is wounded!" his words had Jacob on his feet in the blink of an eye before rushing down to the surgery the doctor hot on his heals.  As he ripped the curtain back his eyes widened. Lillianna had changed positions to straddle the chair. Her left side that had been covered by the shadows of the room was now of full display. Her who back covered in crimson liquid. She gripped her forearm tightly the blood dripping down it to the floor below. On her shoulder a lovely sized bullet hole sat.

"Lillianna," Jacob breathed in worry dropping to his knees in front of her taking her pained face into his hands.

"Why did you say anything?" he asked.

"I though it was just a scratch," she said through gritted teeth.

"The bullets still in there,: the doctor said as he examined it.

"Jacob take her shirt off," Jacob nodded pulling his knife out and slicing the tops of the shirt so it pooled around her waist. What was left was her half corset.

"How dare you!" Brian exclaimed in shock pulled Jacob back by the shoulder Before he could pull him back complete Jacob turned to him his figures towering over his with an expression that simply said.

'Dont fuck with me,'

"Listen mate," Jacob face morphed into one of seriousness as he stepped up to the man instantly having him shrink away slightly.

"I thank you for your concern Mrs holland. But we have it from here," Lillianna didn't looked up at him. She simply breathed heavily her grip on her arm tightening. Jacob got the message, she didn't want him there.

"I'm gonna have to fish the bullet out. Bight this your majesty," The doctor gave her a piece of wood. Lillianna knew at that moment whatever he was gonna do was gonna hurt.

Jacob paced the deck rubbing his hands nervously and shaking his head every time a painful sound would emit from below. Sarah who had been watching him from afar walked up to him.

"Your sweet on the princess," she remarked stopping him in his tracks. Of course he was sweet on her. More than sweet.

"What? Corse not, I'm just worried bout her. After all if she dies it's our heads," he tried to brush it off with a chuckle and a fake smile but a particular loud scream of pain had the smile disappearing replacing with only concern and worry.

"She's a princess Jacob. He kind and ours don't mix," Sarah felt like she had to explain it. After all she cared for Jacob and she didn't want him getting hurt.

"I know," he really did know. All to well.

The two didn't see much of each other after that. She had stayed in her room recovering while looking after Maisie. Only when they made it back to castle white rock did she emerge from her room. Gone was her raggy cloths and free messy hair. Gone was her smile.

The princess had returned. She was dressed properly although this time she wore pants, a final grasp of freedom, she knew she would have to change out of them as soon as she got back to the palace. Her hair was pulled back neatly her hands clasped in front of her covered by a silk pair of gloves as she looked  out at Red. She watched the sea, she watched as it was slowly obscured by land and buildings her freedom getting further and further away.

"How's the arm?" she didn't turn to face jacob.

"The doctor said the bullet was caught by a bone. He said was lucky. If it hadn't I probably wouldn't have an arm right now," she explained simply.

"Yeah I know. Doc already told me," he said. Jacob had been constant asking the doctor about the state of the two. There was a heavy silence after that. Not the comfortable one they had come to know.

"So this is it huh?" his question ment then end of a few things. The end of there journey and the end to whatever they were to each other.

"I suppose so," Lillianna muttered.

"I gotta say that punch," he mused walking up to her side. A ghost of a smile flashed across her face.

"It was a good one," Lillianna nodded.

"Look i know your mad but,"

"I'm not mad," Lillianna whispered.

"We've both made hard choices. The only difference is that im gonna do something to change all this. While you, your just gonna keep on hunting," Lillianna's words were bitter. Turning to leave she was stopped when Jacob hand reached out gingerly capturing hers. The two looked at each other both wanting to say so many words.

"Goodby captain someday," Lilianna murmured with a small smile before pulling her hand free and walking away her guards right by her side.

"Goodby princess," he whispered back.
