Maisie was quick to rush around showing off her new adoption form. Jacob walked up to Lillianna handing her a mug.
"Thankyou," she said taking it and taking a good gulp.
"So how's the council stuff going?" he asked sitting down next to her.
"Surprisingly well. Everything's been sorted out. The transfer of power went smoothly and everything's calmed down," Lillianna explained. As she spoke Jacob noticed how tired she actually looked. She had bags under her eyes and she looked slightly pale her word's slightly slowed.
"You look tired," he said.
"You have no idea," Lillianna chuckled.
"To tired for a dance?" He asked standing and holding his hand out.
"I don't know if you wanna do that. Jigging is a dangourise dance, sure you can keep up?" Lillianna asked a bit more colour returning to her cheeks.
"I'll take my chances," he said with his delicious smile. Lillianna smiled taking his hand and putting her mug down.
They entered the circle holding hands with the people around them as the music started. They jigged moving with the circle before Jacob spun Lillianna into himself her back pressed to his chest as he held a hand on her waist the other acting as the leading hand as they weaved in and out of the other couples. There were many spins many skips. At one point a excited laugh left Lillianna's lips as Jacob hoisted her into the air before catching her bridal style and spinning her around. The music picked up as he set her down as they grabbed each other forearms jigging around each other.
Jacobs heart had never felt lighter at that moment. Seeing Lillianna smile a carefree smile. To just have her back in his arms gave him joy like nothing else. Just like always Lillianna's worried slipped away.
The song got faster and faster before it ended in a final explosion of notes. At that end Jacob lifted lilliana up his arms encasing her hips holding her a few heads above everyone else. Lillianna took one of her hands placing it on his cheek.
"It's about time you came back," he murmured.
"Why, did you miss me?" Lillianna asked, Jacob gently set her down, yet he didnt let her go, if anything he pulled her closer.
"Every second of every day, every day of every week. Every week of every month," Lillianna paused at the sincerity in his words.
"Well, that's a whole lot of missing," she mused.
"It was worth the wait," he said. Lillianna blushed heavily at his words. A new song started and Jacob took Lillianna's hand before leading her off the dance floor. Lillianna started at there interlocked hands, at the thumb that gently caressed hers.
"Your highness," Lia pushed through the group casting a displeased look at there interlocked hands.
"Lia, this is Jacob. Jacob this is Lia, although you've already meet," Lillianna introduced the two by name.
"It's nice to meet you, I've heard quite a lot about you. Throwing knives at wigs and all," Jacob smiled politely holding his hand out.
"Likewise. Did she also tell you I taught her the perfect way to kill a man with only a butter knife?" Lia asked gripping his hand tighter. There was a brief moment of silence as Lia sized Jacob up.
"No, she didn't. But that's good to know," Jacob chuckled gripping her hand just as tightly. Lia humed pulling her hand back.
"The books greatly exaggerate," Lillian gave Lia a soft warning look at her words.
"I must return to the palace. I would ask you to return with me but I see your having far to much fun," Lia said turning her attention fully to Lillianna.
"I'm amongst friends here Lia. I'll be safe," Lillianna said. Lia nodding giving Jacob another once over before leaving.
"My turn!" Maisie called grabbing Lillianna's hands and pulling her back into a dance.
"Hey!" The crowd cheered as Lillianna started a jig Maisie coping her movements and the locked elbows and circled round each other. The crowd quickly started to form a crowd as they watched her. It was an impressive sight, Lillianna was dancing on her toes clicking her shoes on the ground to the beat. It was like there normal jigs just more refined more polished. Yet her smile and energy she brought to the dance was like all others. As she jumped into the air she kicked her leg up right up to her face the crowd cheering in aww. Jacob jaws slacked as he clapped along with everyone else. It was an impressive feet doing all those steps on just ones toes. The song finished with Lillianna on her very tiptoes her hands in the air. Slowly lowering she breath deeply as the crowd cheered loudly.
"I'd like to make a toast!" Lillianna said stepping to a chair someone handing her a mug.
"Today we celebrate the birthday of a very special person. Maisie Dear. Im so proud of you and everything you've accomplished. You've brought this world into a new era. Happy birthday love. TO MAISIE!" she called raising her cup.
"TO MAISIE!" Everyone chorased.
The rest of the night was a happy blur. And the funny thing about alcohol was that at a certain point it disabled the part of the brain that stored memories. So when Lillianna woke up the next morning with a large black hole thrown into the chunk of her memories she was more than slightly confused.
