Kai walked around her room wearing only a tank top and her underwear a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other as she swayed to the music playing.
It had officially been a week since Kai got back on drugs and drinking, she had been hiding it fairly well, but she had been avoiding lip and work and Brad. Kai was always thankful for Lip and Brad but she hated how they could easily see through her.
But the drugs oh how she missed the drugs, not being able to feel all the feelings she was feeling it was amazing. She felt like she could never die.
While Kai was in her room dancing to music in the Gallagher house Tilly sat feeding Franny while Debbie sang. "Gonna jump in the Cadillac well put some miles on it anything you want, yeah just to get a smile on you." Debbie sang loudly as she grabbed a cup. "Oh, and I'm gonna give it to you, Franny..."
"What's got you all perky?" Freddie asked walking into the room with Carl. "What do you mean?" Debbie questioned, "singing and smiling and bouncing around." Carl explained.
"I've got a beautiful daughter, an amazing best friend, decent job, great grades, and I'm hot as fuck." Debbie shrugged a big smile on her face while Tilly only winced at the best friend part.
"And tomorrow once I pass my arc welding exam, I'll be one step closer to getting my certification."
"Gonna be able to land a job that pulls real money.....where is the peanut butter." Debbie asked looking around, "over there." Carl mumbled before putting his phone to his ear.
Freddie raised an eyebrow as he saw the look on Carl's face change. "They gave my Indian scholarship to another student." Carl said a sad look on his face. "Why would they do that?" Tilly questioned, "he's 50% Comanche. Fucking Comanche!" Carl cursed running a hand through his hair.
"Tuitions 24gs I need 12gs by August first." Carl said in shock, "I was supposed to have my own single dorm this year, be first in line in the commissary, get my underwear washed and my shirts ironed by the plebes."
"Anything we can do to help?" Fred asked as he bit into an apple. "You got 12gs?" Carl asked earning a scoff from the three teens. "Nope good luck." Debbie smirked as Tilly picked up Franny and the three walked out.
"I don't need luck I have will." Carl said determinable earning a weird look from Fred. "I'm a fucking cadet corporal."
"You're a strange kid Carl." Fred called out as Carl walked down to the basement.
Kai laid on the floor staring at the ceiling fan as music played. That was until she heard a knock at the door. Quickly the girl went to turn off her blunt and turned the music off.
"Oh hey Murphy." Kai smiled her tense going away once she knew it wasn't anyone who actually cared about her sobriety. "Look what I got babe." Murphy smirked pulling out a bag with beer and other types of drugs.
"God I love you." Kai grinned taking the pack of beer from Murphy. "Let's get this party started."
Kai snorted about three lines of coke before looking up at ceiling happily. Murphy and Kai jumped on the bed screaming happily.
Murphy held the girl rocking her back and forth as they continued to talk about random things. "I'm telling you babe you don't need that job." Murphy smiled putting both hands on the girls cheeks. "Imagine this every night just you and me."
Kai only smiled before she began jumping around in spins on the bed before her foot slipped causing her to fall onto the floor. Murphy gasped leaning over to the edge of the bed where Kai sat on the floor.
Kai looked at Murphy before breaking out into more laughter. Murphy smiled as he grabbed a beer while Kai stood in the middle of the room running her hands through her hair before she decided to snort another line.
As time continued to pass Kai had begun to slightly lose more and more of her composure. The girl dragged herself off of the floor only to fall back on her knees. Kai smiled to herself before climbing up onto the bed.
Carl, Lip, Fred, Tilly were all in the Gallagher living room talking. "She's not okay I found this in her pocket." Lip announced throwing a small bag onto the table. It was some coke that Kai had honestly forgot about.
"So what do we do?" Tilly asked biting her nails. "Send her to rehab what? We need to tell Kev and V they'll know what to do."
Tilly and Fred looked guilty they were supposed to be her best friends they should've noticed the signs before Kai even relapse. "Fuck this." Carl scoffed getting up and walking up the stairs.
"Carl." Lip scowled following after the boy, "you can't just barge in there!"
"Fuck you, Lip!" Carl shouted pointing a finger at his brother before he began banging on the door to Hayley's old room where Murphy and Kai were currently at. Quickly Murphy opened the door not opening it fully an almost scared look on his face.
"I need to talk to her." Carl said looking at Murphy his eyes filled with anger. "Everything's fine." Murphy said clearing his throat, Fred knew that look in his eyes it was a look of fear and guilt.
"Okay, she's fine. Just go." Murphy demanded going to shut the door. Carl looked over at Lip, Tilly, and Fred giving them a knowing look. "Go please."
"Open the door Murphy." Carl demanded before forcing the door open sending Murphy stumbling back. "Open the fucking door." Without hesitation the group hurried into the room. "Kai." Carl whispered his face falling as he ran over to the girl who laid unconscious on the floor.
"Holy shit." Lip gasped backing away slightly. "Kai. Kai." Carl whispered slapping the girls face softly before leaning down to hear her heart beat. "Lip! She's not breathing, man!" Carl shouted, Fred stammered to quickly grab his phone.
"Kai it's okay I'm here." Carl whispered his hands sweaty as he licked the girl up. Murphy put his hands in the air looking around in shock.
"I need you to get Dr. Clark tell him Fred needs him he'll know what to do." Fred said his voice shaky as he attempted to remember the address.
"Kai it's okay." Carl repeated holding the girl gently, "what the fuck are you doing?" Tilly asked looking at Murphy in shock who had begun gathering all of his things.
"I'm sorry, I...I can't be here, so, um, I'll I'm sorry." Murphy stuttered zipping his bag before running out of the room.
All eyes went back on Carl who was holding Kai his hands shaking. "Wake up. Wake up." Carl repeated his grip on the girl tightening. "Please please."
Lip quickly grabbed a wet towel and placed it on the girls forehead. "Please don't, please don't." Carl begged placing a small kiss on the girls head.
