Jaqen would collect her most days around high noon and give her food and water she would drop her broom where she stood and follow him he snickered every time she did it. Releasing her grip on the broom and it clattered to the floor. He didnt hit her or shout so figured as long as she wasnt saying her name anything else seemed fine.
He would give Sera her meals sitting down across from her as she ate licking her fingers clean as they sat outside the sun beating down on them. Living at the capital and before the castelry rock she loved the sun. She had never spent so much time indoors before. But she didnt question his methods she didnt think she would be good at fighting anyways, not like how she saw him fight. But one day she got curious. She finished her meal her feet dangling over the edge outside the temple toes hitting the water sending sprinkles flying off causing ripples. Sera looked over to jaqen to find him already looking at her.
'When did you become a faceless man?' Sera questioned and a smile crept on his face but he didnt answer. 'Who were you before you were no one?' again no answer. 'Where was a man born?' He smiled fully at that. She was asking the right questions the wrong way.
'A man hails from lorath.' he told her.
'A woman hails from castlery rock.' she countered. He smiled leaning back on his palms joining her at the waters edge.
'How did a man find the faceless god?'
'The faceless God found a man.' he told her. 'Just as a faceless God found a man a man found a woman he thought would serve well for the faceless God.'
'It is a requirement to speak in third person?' She questioned he smirked as she leaned back as well her finger coming into contact with his it was like a bolt of power tingling through his fingers and up his arm.
'Why did a man choose a broken girl with no kills sobbing in fear on the ports at white harbor?' sera questioned.
'You are not just a girl.' Jaqen told her. 'You are still seraphina lannister-'
'I feel like i should be slapping you for that.' sera remarked Jaqen bit at his lip, holding back a smile. A woman in the temple thought sera couldnt do this but jaqen thought the woman jealous of seras beauty. Jaqen saw potential in her. He also saw beauty and attitude.
'You want to be no one?'
'What does being no one entail?' Sera countered. 'You still havent told me.'
'You came with a man.' He countered. 'not knowing, thinking a man would sell you or ransom you yet you came anyways. All the unknowns and you came with me. You stayed and cleaned and you had meals with a man.'
'I did and i do. I enjoy our talks however strange that might be.' sera told him
'But you do not want to be no one?'
'What does no one want?' Sera asked
'Nothing. No one has no wants.' Jaqen told her.
'I still have wants and needs... desires' sera told him. 'I'm human. Maybe you're not.' she remarked 'but-'
'No buts.' he told her and sera thought he was going to slap her again but he didnt he got closer and closer until their thighs were touching and he gently pushed blonde locks out of her face. 'You want power and you want strength. Or did a girl forget?'
'I did not.' She confirmed. 'Is sweeping supposed to do that? Because if so then the maids should have all the power back at the capital.' She remarked. He kept a hand on her cheek his thumb gently running over her smooth skin. No tears to wipe away like last time slowly his hand ran down her neck and down her arm taking her hand in his.
'Smooth and gentle.' Jaqen told her taking her hand and running his hand along her hers. Tracing down every delicate finger. 'A mans though,' he held his hand palm up she kept her hand in his. 'Rough and callused from many years of training.' He told her as she massaged his hand his eyes closed at the touch. Pulling at the fingers the joints popping into place massaging the palm her fingers kneading into him.
'When will the training begin?' She questioned after a long moment of silence their hands wound together he held tight to her hand.
'It has already begun.' He got up moving quickly back to the house of black and white but sera stayed put. Turning her attention back to the water. As for jaqen he had felt an urge in him he hadnt felt in years. A man should have no wants no desires just to serve but as sera said we are still only human. He calmed his beating heart with meditation and when he came out sera was sweeping.
'Come.' He told her she dragged the broom behind her think maybe she could stare at a new room and sweep for a few days. 'You won't need that'. He told her and she dropped it at the door.
'Oh much better than sweeping.' sera noted when she saw the dead body. 'Necromancy?' She questioned. Worse than gypies.
'No lovely girl.' jaqen told her 'we must clean the body.'
'Why?'
'Because the faceless god demands it.' jaqen told her simply
'Why?'
'So that his death may serve a purpose.'
'What purpose?'
'You will see after we clean.' Jaqen told her. Gross, gross, GROSS! Sera thought as jaqen showed her how to clean the body. He was very gentle considering how he treats living breathing people but slowly sera helped stepping forward and running a wet rag along the mans arms. It was a silent process perhaps to thank the God or the man that died for their cause. When jaqen was satisfied he told her to go. She stared him a moment before he told her to again. Calmly and evenly he spoke his eyes watching her leave when she turned back he was getting a knife out. Good God she was living with lunatics. Sera thought as she made her way to her bed.
