James' journal

August312022.mp3

Okay, well, I guess I can go back to this journal now. Because what happened today needs to be told.

So you remember how Elise died, right? Four years ago? Since then I didn't record anything, because, at first, I didn't know what to say and then, hell, time passed. I just forgot about it.

So Elise. She was not exactly dead actually, more gone. But tomato, tomato. You get the idea. She disappeared into the Void. What the fuck is that? Don't ask me. To this day I have no clue. Enough to say that nobody ever came back from there.

But you know what? Three hours ago, she did.

Yep. Unbelievable, right? We found a way. She did most of the job, for sure. But we helped.

It was absolutely insane this scene. Her body contorted, she breathed and then she opened her eyes. And she was there, looking at us, alive.

But the thing is, coming back from the Void, it's not exactly a picnic, I guess. So she was not well, not herself. She seemed terrified. She didn't say a word.

She tried to stand up, but it was as if her legs were too weak to bear her weight. So she collapsed on the floor. Aidan, Amaury, and I all ran towards her, to help her, but the moment we were next to her and she looked at us with this anguish in her eyes, we hesitated.

Aidan kneeled in front of her and said: "My love, it's me, Aidan."

She didn't answer. She was gasping for air. The confusion in her eyes seemed too much to bear, and she fainted.

No need to say that we were in shock. We didn't know what to say or do. So we decided Aidan would bring her back to her apartment for her to rest, and then Amaury and I will come to visit tomorrow. I just hope that she'll be ok, that it was not a mistake.

Amaury is very upset. He went for a walk alone. And I'm pacing our place.

Well, maybe I should tell the whole story, you know, to keep myself busy. I went a little fast there, actually. You must wonder how she survived, right?

So let's go back to what happened four years ago when her soul vanished. Yes, let's start there.

But this is no picnic either because it was dark times. For all of us.

 For all of us
