A few days after Cheryl's announcement. Josie and I were doing some last-minute shopping for Italy.

"Let's see.. I've already packed my sunglasses, deodorant, plenty of socks--"

"Sounds like an old lady's suitcase." Josie rolled her eyes. "Where's the lingerie in this place?"

"That'd just be money down the drain at this point. We're going on a business trip to meet up with her fiancee and stay at the Lodges' villa." I reminded my best friend. "Not to mention the fact that I've been avoiding Cheryl since our fight."

"You're avoiding her? Why?" Josie inquired.

"Cause I have no idea what to say! Last time I tried to confront her, it didn't exactly go well.." I thought back on that night in Cheryl's office, my face flushing at the thought of her smirking at me from between my legs.

Josie waved a hand in front of my face to get my attention. "Hello. Details."

After catching her up on everything that's happened, I whined. "I need your advice! Everything's such a mess! I don't know what to do!"

"Aw, sweetie." Josie wrapped her arms around me. "It sounds like you need to talk to Cheryl, no shenanigans. Have a real, honest conversation about what's going on and what your future looks like."

"Really? I thought you would've said something like, I should hide in her bed naked."

She smirked. "I mean, I definitely think you should do that.. just make sure you talk to her after." I chuckled as I leaned into my best friend's embrace, feeling a little better.

"But you still owe it to yourself to look amazing on that nine-hour flight." Taking my hand, Josie pulled me into one of the stores. It only took her a few minutes to find a complete outfit for me to try on.

"Imagine yourself relaxing in Tuscany with a glass of wine in one hand while a gorgeous woman feeds you grapes."

I laughed at her silliness. "Is that what happens in Italy?"

"Wear this and find out." Josie handed over the dress, and I took it back to the changing room.

When I emerged, I walked to her with a smile, doing a little twirl so she could get the full effect.

She looked me over. "I see you're feeling better about the trip."

"Definitely. I guess I just needed some retail therapy."

"Happy to be of service. You know I'm gonna require like, a daily update on what's going on over there, right?" Josie nudged my shoulder knowingly.

I rolled my eyes playfully. "Wouldn't expect anything else."

The rest of the afternoon was spent hanging out with Josie, trying not to think too hard about the journey I was about to take.
