"How do you have so much energy? We just ran ran 4 200s back to back" One of my teammates frowned.
"Cuz she broke the world record in the 200 last summer. I saw you on YouTube" She smirked.
"That's crazy" I chuckled.
"It was inspiring. I'm Shanice" She introduced herself.
"I'm Zuri" I drunk my water.
I've been at college for three days now and today was my first day of track practice. I haven't really been getting the full college experience since I really just run and stay in my room. I haven't even seen my best friend Alan yet and we were staying in the same building.
"Oh shit are you Nina's roommate?" She asked.
"How you know?" I looked at her weird.
"That's my friend, ian weird if that's watchu thinking" She laughed.
"Oh" I sighed in relief.
"Hold on we gon be practicing during the same time the footballers are?" A girl yelled.
I looked towards the field seeing a team of footballers running on the field.
"Just tune them out" I shrugged.
"I be looking a mess during practice especially in this heat. Do you know how fine them football players are? This is embarrassing" She frowned.
"We not out here to look cute we out here to run" Shanice mugged her.
"You must be gay or sum" She mugged her.
"I am actually" Shanice shrugged.
"I'm not gay and ion care" I shrugged standing up as I stretched.
"Y'all weird" She stood up walking off.
"We weird for not caring what niggas think?" Shanice laughed.
"This why I only have one female friend now" I shook my head.
"Two for me and I've know them hoes since middle school" She shrugged.
"Is Nina one of em?" I asked.
"Yea. How you liking college so far you a freshman right?" She asked.
"I mean I been in my room since I got here. I'm just focused on school and track honestly" I shrugged.
"You plan on going pro after college?" She asked.
"I really want to. All I think about is track" I sighed.
