Chapter #24: What Happened?

"Kumpleto na ba tayo?" Tanong ko at nilibot ang tingin sa kanilang lahat.

"Oo nga. Tanong ka nang tanong, ano ba kasi 'yang sasabihin mo?" Tanong ni Donna.

"Where's Solene?" Of course, it was Vincen. He's looking for his beloved girlfriend.

"Lumabas, hindi mo nakita?" Tinaasan ng kilay ni Ilana si Vincen.

"No. Sasamahan ko lang siya," anito at lumabas.

I sighed and looked at them again.

"Gusto ni Johanna na bumalik sa school, her reason is she left something important in there. I don't know what is it. She said she only want to go by herself, of course tumutol kaagad ako." I cleared my throat. "I'm planning to go with her, sinong gustong sumama?" Tanong ko at nilibot ulit ang tingin sa kanila.

"Something important?" Ulit na tanong ni Angel. Tumango ako at tumingin sa kaniya.

"Yes, she told me a while ago. Do you know what it is?" I asked.

I saw her tensed a little bit and shook her head.

"N-No, tatanungin ko sa kaniya mamaya kung ano iyon." She smiled and looked away.

I looked at them again.

"Sinong gustong sumama sa inyo?"

"Bro, I want to go!" Simon raised his hand and smiled at me widely. Mabilis na kumunot ang noo ko at bumaling sa kaniya.

What if something bad happened on him? Siya na nga lang ang natitira ko na pamilya mawawala pa sa akin? It was dangerous to go back in there.

"No, maiiwan ka." Tutol at bumaling ulit sa iba.

"No, I'd like to come!"

I looked at him deadly. "I said no. Maiiwan ka sa ayaw at gusto mo."

"Ganiyan pala feeling magkaroon ng kapatid," sabat ni Arkin.

"I want to go." It was Theo.

Of course. He is. Palagi naman siyang ganiyan.

"Ikaw?!" Angel scoffed and even pointed Theo. "Ano namang gagawin mo roon? You're the epitome of this delude—"

"Really?" Hazel cut Angel's words.

"What?"

"Siya nga ba ang ugat o kayo?"

Naguguluhan kaming bumaling kay Hazel nang magsalita ito. What is she even talking about? May alam ba sila na hindi namin alam?

"What are you talking about?!" Angel shouted.

"Oh, acting innocent, Angel?" Hazel smirked as shooting glares at Angel. "Hindi si Johanna ang may kagagawan ng virus na 'to? Johanna created this apocalypse because of some failed experimented substance, right? Ano ba talaga kayo, Angel? Ano bang ginagawa niyo na hindi namin alam?"

Johanna?

She was the one who's behind this apocalypse? This virus? Failed experimented substance? I feel like my brain will explode at any moment. I don't know what to feel.

"So, Johanna is the one who's behind this dilemma?" Donna interfered.

"N-No. It wasn't Johanna—"

"Then who?!" Arkin suddenly shouted.

Before Angel could speak, someone suddenly spoke behind us.

"It was me." It was Johanna's voice.

"It was me." I started. "It was my fault. I was the one who experimented with the virus."

"Ikaw?!" Donna suddenly shouted and pointed at me. "Ikaw na naman." Her eyes were full of tears. There's only one emotion in her eyes…hatred.
