Girlfriend

She was his girlfriend, she was Matt's girlfriend. Matt, Chris's best friend since high school. Chris could feel a pain in his chest as soon as Matt said that word; how the fuck was this woman he literally just met having such an effect on him. The first woman he's actually felt a connection with in fuck knows how long is Matt's Girlfriend. Of course she fucking was.

"Luna, this is my friend Chris that I was telling you about" Matt spoke as he securely placed his arm around Luna's waist bringing her closer to him. Luna looked at him shocked, she knew they were here to meet his friends, but he never once mentioned his best friend from high school Chris, was Chris fucking Evans.

"Fucking hell Matt, you could've told me your best friend Chris was this Chris" she spoke gesturing to Chris, "at least before I embarrassed myself for insulting his ugly sofas" Matt chuckled down at Luna, "I'm sorry baby, I should've told you, thought it would be a nice surprise considering how much you love the marvel films"

Despite the sadness he felt, Chris couldn't help but smile at Matt's words, desperately wanting any attention he could get from Luna, "Love? You just said you'd seen them like it was a casual thing?" Chris questioned looking at Luna.

"Well I wasn't going to tell you that and seem like some crazed fan, so thanks for that babe" she spoke turning to look at Matt.

Babe

Chris couldn't help but feel hurt hearing that word come out of her mouth when she wasn't directing it at him. What the fuck was this woman doing to him? He now desperately wanted to get away from this conversation and not have to keep watching his best friend all over the woman who he was intoxicated by. As if his prayers had been answered Scott came up beside him,

"Well well well, if it isn't Matt and the infamous girlfriend everyone thought was imaginary" Scott taunted while pulling Matt in for a hug, "Ha Ha" Matt laughed sarcastically while rolling his eyes at Scott.

Matt proceeded to introduce Luna to Scott, but Chris had completely zoned them out, his eyes just staring at Luna. She was his. Her eyes found his briefly and he was surprised to see the same look that was plastered across his face. Disappointment. He couldn't help but wonder why; did she feel the same connection he did? As quick as the look came, it was gone and she was back to engaging in a conversation with Scott. Chris had no idea what they were talking about and he honestly had no desire to stick around and find out. He slipped out pretty easily, everyone too wrapped up in their own conversation to even notice. He slumped towards the patio doors heading outside. He took a deep breath, taking in the fresh air. Ever since Matt said that word he felt like he couldn't breathe. His eyes scanned the back yard, finding a few of his other friends sat around the fire pit with a group of girls. He decided he was being stupid, there was nothing special about Luna, despite every fibre of his being telling him different. He put those thoughts of her to the back of his head and decided to get back to the task at hand, finding someone he could take to bed with him.

He made his way over to the fire pit, his friends welcoming him in to the little group. He caught the stare of a blonde sat in the circle; she was pretty and was basically fucking him with her eyes. She's not her though. Chris shook his head, once again pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind as he took a seat next to the girl.

He spent the next half an hour listening to the blonde drone on and on, something about her skincare business or some shit. Chris wasn't listening though; he was trying to keep the thoughts of Luna at bay. It wasn't helping that her and Matt had decide to join the little group at the fire pit. He couldn't stand the sight of Matt's hand in hers so he interrupted the blonde and whatever shit she was talking about, "hey, why don't we go get another drink" he winked at her as he placed his hand on her bare thigh, he felt nothing, not like when he'd touched her.

"Yeah definitely" the blonde, Ashley, maybe Amy, he had no fucking idea he wasn't listening, replied incredibly enthusiastically. "Come on then darling" he said while taking her hand in his and leading her back inside. What he didn't notice was how Luna's gaze lingered on them a little longer than it should have.

Luna couldn't shake the feeling she'd had since the moment Chris touched her arm. It was like it was just lingering there, taunting her, making her feel like shit for feeling like this about her boyfriends best friend. Never has she felt a connection that quickly to someone and it was freaking her the fuck out. Clearly Chris didn't feel the same as her by the way he'd been drooling over that blonde since Matt got here. Luna shook her head to snap herself out of it; she was here with Matt. She squeezed Matt's hand in hers as she pushed any thoughts of Chris to the back of her mind.

Chris spent the remainder of the party away from Matt and Luna, hiding away in the living room basically dry humping the blonde on his couch. He had his tongue down in her mouth when he heard someone clearing their throat. He pulled away to see Matt and Luna stood in front of them. "Hey man, just wanted to say bye, we're gonna head back to the hotel" Chris stood to hug Matt goodbye, "thanks for coming pal" Chris said as he pulled away. "Of course man, I was talking to the guys and we were saying we'd all do lunch tomorrow?"

"Yeah definitely man, I'll see you tomorrow" Chris replied, "Goodbye Chris it was lovely to meet you" he now looked at Luna as she spoke "Yeah you too Lucy" he spoke before turning back to the blonde "now where were we" he sat back down and proceeded to go back to making out with her. He heard Luna speak, correcting him. Of course he knew her name wasn't Lucy, her name was practically engraved in his mind. But he couldn't let her effect him like this, he just couldn't. So he continued to try to forget about her by using the blonde in front of him.
