Maeve

I open my eyes and I pull the cover on my head. Today is my birthday. I don't have anything planned. I simply don't have any idea about what I should do. I grab my phone from the nightstand and I start answering the birthday wishes I got. There are messages from my nana, my aunts, and friends from school, but not even one from my mother. Isa sent me a whole paragraph about how much she loves me and how she would die if I wouldn't be in her life. A smile spreads on my face. I love her so much.

It's a quarter past nine and I decide to get out of bed, maybe I can go watch a movie in the living room, I am pretty sure that Grey is still sleeping, he is not quite of a morning person. I go to the bathroom and I do my routine. I remake my bun and I decide to not change, I like the volleyball shorts and the blue undershirt I am wearing. I get out of the bathroom and I make my bed.

I head to the kitchen rubbing my eyes. I have to admit I am still sleepy.

"Ice," I say as I pass the living room.

No answer. He probably fell asleep in Grey's room, he usually does that. Ice loves to sleep in our beds and we simply let him do that. I get to the kitchen and I grab some bread to make a sandwich.

I place the plate on the counter island and I start eating while scrolling on Tik Tok.

After I finish eating I wash the plate and head to Grey's room to see if he woke up. I open the door to his bedroom and I find the room empty. What the hell? I didn't hear him leaving, he probably went on a walk with Ice or something.

I go back to my room and I turn on the T.V, play something random on YouTube and I start scrolling on Instagram.

I get new birthday wishes and I answer them. There is no message from the boys. Not even one. I guess they haven't woken up yet.

I put my phone down and start paying attention to the YouTube video. A few minutes go by and I almost jump when the door opens.

Atlas comes in.

"Hey," he says and I stop the video.

"Do you know how to knock?" I say as I lean against the bed's headboard. He narrows his eyes while I roll mine.

He makes his way to the bench between my desk and bed. His eyes wander around my face and stop at the necklace.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Happy birthday, El!" he says and smiles at me.

"Thank you," I say giving him a half-smile, at least he didn't forget like the others did.

He throws something, next to me on the bed.

"What is this?" I say as I take the envelope.

Atlas raises his shoulders.

I open the envelope and I find two movie tickets for the romantic movie that is rolling at noon.

"What's with these?" I ask as I raise them.

"I'm taking you to the movie," he says smiling. Wow! Atlas Graham is smiling! This doesn't look good for me, Atlas never smiles around me, but when he does it, it has to be something mischievous. Whenever he smiles like this, I don't want to be around him, especially today and to be honest I'm not in the mood to do anything.

"You, Atlas Graham, the person that hates me the most, want to take me to watch a movie?" I ask raising my eyebrows.

"Yep," he simply says.

I let out a sigh and I put the envelope on the bed.

"I'm sorry, Atlas, I'm not in the mood to do anything," I say and he narrows his eyes at me.
