Maeve
"So did you talk with him?" Isa asks as I slam shut my locker door.
"Yep and I was right. He indeed thought that we were a couple, but everything it's fine now. We are officially a couple!" I tell her while we start heading towards the cafeteria. It's lunch.
"So how are things going with your mom? It's been three weeks since she told you about getting married."
"Everything it's fine. Jack moved in and I must admit everything is awesome. They decided they want to have the wedding this summer, in August."
"Wow, that's early. Since it's now February there are like six more months."
"Yeah, but they don't want something too big, just a few guests!" I say taking a look around the hallway trying to find Atlas.
Isa and I continue walking towards the cafeteria while greeting people we know and making small talk about random stuff.
"How did you do on your Spanish quiz?" Isa asks me when we get close to the big doors that lead towards the cafeteria.
"I got a ninety-five, mi amor. How about you?" I return her question. We share a few classes and Spanish is one of them. I like Spanish, but sometimes I want to go kill myself because of all the verbs and rules.
"Not much, eighty-five!" she says and doesn't sound at all satisfied.
"It's fine, you said you didn't have much time to study and after all Spanish is hard." I try to cheer my best friend up.
She raises her shoulders as we enter the cafeteria.
The cafeteria is not too complex. Just a big room full of tables and chairs. Next to the buffet where you get the food is a big jukebox that has snacks and other stuff, there's always a line there. Everyone talks so loud that you can't even hear your thoughts in here. I like to eat in peace and we usually eat in the garden, but today it's closed.
We get to the table where Jake, Kai, and Isaac sit. They got the one that is exactly in the middle.
"Good evening ladies!" Isaac greets us when we sit down.
I raise my sleeves to my elbows. Today I am wearing a basic outfit, a long sleeve grey blouse, from my big collection, and a pair of black mom jeans, which sit perfectly on my legs. I have my hair straightened and my clear glasses on. I forgot to take them off after math.
"Soo, there's a party this Friday" Isa starts "we are going, right?"
"It's after the game right?" Kai asks and she nods. I stay silent staring at my food. I don't know what to say about this party.
"Come on Maeve, it's been ages since someone threw a party, we have to go" Isabelle insists.
"It's Monday, Isa. We have plenty of time to decide!"
"Well you don't, after all, you forgot to tell me something since December," she says winking. I roll my eyes at her remark, I was waiting for her to throw this in my face, but it's fine.
"Agh, fine, we are going!" I say as I take a bite from my pasta and her lips curve into a big smile that reveals her perfect white teeth.
The doors to the cafeteria opens. Grey and Atlas walk in like they own the place. Every head from each table turns to look at them. The famous duo.
My brother wears a pair of black sweatpants and a matching hoodie. He is just like me, loves wearing comfortable clothes, but the girls still find him attractive. After all, he is the one and only Grey Avery. Atlas on the other hand is wearing a pair of black jeans that are not too tight but not too wide either, on top he has a beige Nike crew neck. Even though all the girls in the cafeteria check him out, smile at him and he is having a full conversation with Grey, the only person he looks at is me. Just me. The corners of his mouth rose a little.
